hey guys, i havent played RS in a while, and i was wondering how the trade system on the black market works now since there are many trade restrictions inside runescape.

if i wanted to buy an item say a party hat how would that work?

 

To buy a partyhat you would trade the person the ingame price + send them money on paypal (however much it is)

 

If you wanted to buy a partyhat let's say Blue,You need the ingame GP (606Mil)

the real life cash you pay just covers the street price,there is no way to get a high priced item on your account without gp.

 

most people use acumulated junk to buy the item + USD

 

wow, so in order to buy party hats i'd have to stock up on junk that amounts to 400M+ gp, and than add 200$ cash for a yellow phat? i dont quite follow this, are phats that rare now that theyre unattainable through the GE?

 

That's pretty much how it goes.

And I'm certain most are unattainable.

 

There is no way whatsoever you can get a Phat through GE, unless some idiot sells it through there and you get lucky over everyone else trying to buy it.

It doesn't have to be 400m junk,it can be flat out gp. Yes phats are that rare, the $$$ covers the high street value in game. Which is anywhere from 1-8bil depending on which hat.

You can buy 500m then buy a lower phat for 80-160. So yah.

You're better off doing GWD until you get the money on the account then spending $300

 

i was planning on spending 200-300$ for a phat, but now that i know i can't do that without spending 700$+, just too high for me

 

from what i've seen people are selling 500m-1b junks worth of items for around 100$

if i bought 500m worth of junk for say 75$ id be able to get a phat here if i added the appropriate amount of USD for a phat right?

if thats true it doesn't make any sense, why would people spend 1$ for every mil when they can just buy junk for much cheaper?

 

Because some people don't take junk. They want GP.

It depends on who you are trading. The people who just want USD I'm sure are fine with just junk. Just start looking around or post a buying thread. Good luck!
