    Baseball vs. Soccer

I'm assuming you're being sarcastic. No, it isn't easy to hit a 95 MPH ball but there are certainly enough people that can. Not to say there aren't a lot of professional footballers, but for example take a look at some of the MLB players. They're overweight and not in good shape at all. That's not the case in football, if you can't keep up you're cut.

I won't lie or anything, soccer players do blow things out of proportion when they get hit or knocked up. It's not hard to hit a ball going 80 MPH if you just put the bat out there and hope for the best.

No one said the ball had to go far, now did they? No one said you HAD to make it on base, now did they? It's a wanting thing. Most of the time, 1/4th of the team is sitting on the bench (when the rest is playing the field) because they have too many players. The thing about soccer is that they have subs constantly or they just don't have way too many players. Moving on, you could kick the ball at the goal and hope for the best, but it'd be pointless because there is always a goalie to get the ball if you just kicked it for the hell of it. People talk about baseball, but soccer is where the action is.

You are that much closer to the hitter. Pitchers are about 30 feet from the hitter, and with bats that are so good, you have no chance to react to the ball.

So what if a few players are over weight? They're still some of the best players in the game. I'm sure any coach from any sport will tell you the majority of the game is mental.
In order to get a hit, you HAVE to make it to the base, so yes, it does matter.

Baseball is America's FAVORITE pastime.. 'Nuf said but I'll say more.

Soccer is full a tiny Europeans that run around on a field chasing a ball and if they even come into the SLIGHTEST of contact, they'll fall down onto the ground crying in pain.
Baseball requires skill. I'd love to see you,Pen, try and hit or even throw a baseball 90+ mph. Or how about trying to field a ground ball from a pull hitter at 3rd base. Then come back to me and say soccer requires more skill. It only takes MILLISECONDS to decide if you're going to hit the ball, or what angle you need to take to field the ball. Soccer, you have all the time in the world to decide.

So, anyone that says baseball < soccer is off their rocker. Or a drunken European that's grown up on soccer. Yes, I'm insulting my own heritage and almost everyone else.

The ball is being thrown at least 30MPH faster in baseball, and the ball is much harder.

In baseball if you get hit with the ball you get a free walk, which is 25% of a run/point. But yet why do baseball games never get out of the score of 10?

Because the pitchers have control of the ball, and don't hit the person? What the hell are you trying to prove?

As much as I'm trying to prove that soccer is the better sport in almost all aspects, a baseball pitcher rarely hits a batter.

That soccer is baseball, I'm saying when we get hit in soccer, nothing happens. Possibly a free kick here and there, but more than half the times the referee's don't see it.

Never said they hit the batter often, I'm just saying.

    Fail much?

My bro plays in the minors...I know baseball..ive grown up with baseball

Hes a pitcher..and Pitching is the hardest thing to do in baseball..and you have to be strong...Not fat...you have to make a ball break 5 inches...to get someone looking which is hard. You go try out for baseball..if your above 20 in some independent league...Lets see if your a pitcher and you cant throw at least 83 they wont accept you in the better independent leagues, unless you have some wicked movement. To throw a ball greater than 85+ miles an hour requires strengh, You have to bench more then probably 200 at 185 to at least throw that speed...i may be wrong but yeah. And the batters...are not fat their strong...You go out their and hit a baseball 400 yards out of a pro baseball cant..O you cant..hmm...
O yeah this one guy who was somewhat a little fat.. on my bros baseball team.. was hitting allright and he was like 26 years old or somethin and he got cut..so baseball is not for fat 30 year olds.

    Anyways back to the Topic.

    Soccer requires speed and stamina.

Baseball requires strenth, speed, stamina unless your a great hitter and can crush balls...

Ill have to go with baseball.

Overall, baseball requires much more skill than soccer.

    Soccer = Fast and stamina
Baseball = Fast, stamina, strength, flexibility, reaction time and a few more.

I wanted to say that baseball players play a game almost everyday (even if they must travel), and I don't know if that's the case for soccer, or any sport tbh (hockey maybe? I don't follow it)

    Baseball vs. Soccer

Even though I play both sports to a good extent, I'd have to say baseball is an overall better sport than soccer. Reasons:

Baseball requires you to hit a 90+ mile/hour ball with a slender bat, which isn't as easy as it seems. The ball also will be altering its path to throw you off as a better, so you have to have great hand-eye coordination.

On the field and off, you need to keep your head in the game, thinking about what you are going to do if the ball comes to you.

Baseball has infielders make fantastic defensive plays from hard, volatile, ground balls, and make a good throw to first in time to get the out. All those parts of a play added together will just get ONE out, just one. Pitchers as well have to throw speedy and accurate pitches, which requires great strength and athleticism.

I've also seen from this thread that the judgment about baseball players is that they are fat, well, tbh, most aren't. A lot come from the Dominican Republic and they put in their own sweat and blood to make it to the MLB and they don't make it looking like Fat Albert.

In soccer, from what I've seen and done, the main skills of the game are exercised from your legs and hips. You don't even focus much on your arms or torso, when baseball players do. The main aspect of it is running, and running also occurs a lot in baseball too.

In soccer, the game often ends up tied 0-0, no winner, as it is a very hard game to score in, while in baseball, the average score in a game is 5-3.

In soccer, you just kick the ball around back and forth, while in baseball, you do a combination of hitting, fielding, running, throwing, and thinking.

For these reasons, baseball > soccer

Soccer, you need all of those that you mentioned for baseball.

Strength - Foot strength; you have to be able to kick a ball from long distances and with great speed.

Flexibility - Soccer players are very flexible. They do all sorts of skills and such. A great example would be a bicycle kick.

Reaction time - You always have to be alert because the pace of the game can change so much when the other team has the ball. I'd also like to add that goalkeepers are very flexible and have a very fast reaction time.

    Think before you post.

Ok hopefully this ends the discussion

They are two completely different sports

Which one is more entertaining to watch? It depends on the viewer. Some people have been watching soccer since they were young ages when their parents have introduced them to it and have grown up with it. Same with baseball

I play soccer and can say that the average professional runs over 8km a game. It is one of the most physically demanding sports.

I would however argue that baseball and soccer both require skills that have been attained from years and years of repetition and practice.

Neither wins this argument because the whole premise of it is flawed. Maybe a better question would be which one is harder? Even that would be a challenge to come to a conclusion
