Excessively hairy ..pathetic/stage or in my hands?

Short and sweet..i've always been on the fence about this.

So far the only people on Sythe that i've even hinted to this at was Kero and Gohan...hopefully I can get a little bit of a better picture.


I'm not even 21 yet, and I can grow a full beard in about a week, scruff after 24 hours. I shave my face and chest. Trim my pubic area and upper upper thighs. My body hair is either your typical idea of stubble, or long,dark, and straight. Growing up in middle school i'd get called things like chewbacca or just plain "hairy". After googling it, there is a certain name for excessively hairy people, but it escapes me now. I'm also aware there are certain "gels" or something of the like that slow down hair growth by weeks. I'm probably playing indoor club soccer, so i'll most likely trim my legs down as fair as my trimmer will go (chinguards getting stuck to your leg hair is annoying and distracting.) . But then i'd have a scruffy face and hairy arms with hairless legs? Wouldn't that be weird?

So then I pose the question; is it "gay" or "abnormal" (for lack of better words, no offense to anyone) for a male to shave/trim his arms or legs?

The only unacceptable answers here are "yes runners/cyclists/swimmers do this" or "no, only gay people."


The only time i'd really consider doing anything with my arms is when I go from High School to college and i'd get a totally new group of people, none of them would know how it used to look.

However, about three weeks ago I was really tired trying to trim up my face, and I accidentally dropped my razor, in an attempt to pick it up I took out a small patch of hair by my left elbow. It's not noticeable (as in, it's been three weeks with no one noticing) but i'm self conscience about it; and it can't hide itself forever. It hasn't grown back one bit.


Opinions?

 

I don't know about culture in america, but Normally. shaving your arms is a bit weird, and legs.. well for a guy anyway, the only thing you should deal with is the pubic areas and higher parts of the thigh.

Have you ever thought of keeping a beard? It'll grow back yeah, buts whats wrong with a bit of stubble?

I think you're being just too paranoid, Being hairy is a good sign, it means you have active hormones, just trim parts like the face and chest.

 

I've had girls walk up to me and pet my arms? And a few of the uh.."less reputable" ones will yell from a distance "You need to shave your legs!", etc.

I consider it I suppose. I don't really think I can pull it off to be honest. A lot of girls and guys say I look better clean shaved.

 

No, it is not "gay" to shave your arms. Someone who grows hair as fast as you can shave their arms and legs if they want. I know I'd do the same thing.

 

Hair=manly. Shaving=not manly. Just use the gifts God gave you.

 

Alright, I'll give you my advice since I'm pretty damn hairy myself.

I wouldn't shave your arm hairs, unless you're a swimmer, if not then I suggest just trimming them.

Shaving your legs does not make you gay, I've done it before because the length of my hairs was just over the top. If you feel weird about it, just wear pants until it grows back out, no big deal.

About the beard, keep it dude. That shit is epic.

Anyways down to what you should use.
Use a product called Nair: http://www.nairformen.com/
You just apply it on wherever (not your pubic area) wait 5 minutes then use a wet towel to get rid of all the lumps of hair it makes. After using it on your legs, put on lotion immediately unless you want to live in hell for the first week while it grows back.

if you live in America dont bother shaving.nothing wrong with a nice scruff,not too much of a beard though.Just keep your chest,thighs shaves/and back.Keep your armpit,leg,armhair.

I'm trying the legs thing for soccer. How do you trim your arms? Is Nair the only way? No chance at like scissors or w/e ? :/

Yes i live in America but i plan to travel..so that doesn't really matter. You don't see any young people with overexcessive arm hair though, do you?

Maryland, and it's either hairless or real light..i'm like dark-haired..it started out blonde when I was a kid then got darker.

Don't shave your arms, wax them. I'm not gay and I shave basically everything you can imagine but my arms and legs. If you did shave them, they'll just grow back like wire and you'll have to do this every day.

Gohan suggested using nair, i haven't used it yet but i hear its good.

Honestly though, shaving everyday is what grown up men do (not legs). My father has shaved everyday before work/college in his youth for 40+ years.

Just ignore it if it really gets to you.

 

Of course you can try with scissors, but it'll take a lot longer.

 

I'm a pretty hairy guy myself, maybe not as hairy as you said but it gets pretty ridiculous. No, it's not gay for a guy to shave their legs, arms, etc. It's pretty normal around where I live as I know quite a few people that do it. Just do what makes you more comfortable, fuck what anyone else thinks or says.

 

If it bothers you, shave it. I would if I was in your shoes. If you really doubt it, I'll do it on cam to prove to you it's no big deal. Who would judge over that?

 

If it bothers you, and you do not want to shave it, when playing soccer simply wear leggings. You could always trim up your arm hairs with some clippers, or wax them if you personally are comfortable with it, arm hair isn't a big deal. Grow a beard man, a lot of men would be proud of this hair.

 

I used to feel the same way about plucking between my eyebrows because it almost gave me a unibrow, though around high school I realized that you need to choose which you'd prefer, keeping the flaw, or getting rid of it (and usually people don't even notice). If the flaw makes you feel uncomfortable, you should do away with it.

 

Well, i'm taking my legs down as much as possible for soccer. Arms..i'm scared of messing with up scissors. And what of the patch I accidently took off; should I just ignore it and hope it grows back? It's been nearly a month and not a bit has grown back.

The beard thing i'm fine with.

 

Just trim the leg hairs.
