runescape console?!?!??!?!

did you know that if you hit the tilt right below esp (or tild, forgot spelling),

on the rs log in screen, it'll open up the developers console, what the fuck does it do, anyone know

i mean could this be used for something, i got one of those discovery moments in my head and a flash of hacking possibilities ran through my head but i dont know if its even useful

tell me if you find anything out

 

Everyone knows about this. It's nothing special. Don't get your hopes up.

 

The developers console is used to troubleshoot errors; unlike private servers, it cannot be used to spawn items/gold, or do anything to give you an unfair advantage. If you found it by accident, it's most likely worthless to you. There are a few cool things you can do, and if you PM me i'd be happy to guide you through those.

To sum it all up, it's basically pointless.

EDIT: Although you thought this would be used for hacking, it actually has no malicious/cheating intent. Probably belongs in another section.

You can also see all debugs on botclient.

 

It's not 100% pointless.

The reason it was added was to show curious players their Java information and how much Random Access Memory (RAM) a runescape game uses at a given time. (when command heap is used)

It also has a Frames Per Second (fps) information option (toggle fps) to show players exactly how their connection is.

That's all a regular rights player can use. There's rumors that administrator accounts can use it to manipulate the game without recompiling and restarting the servers. But that's just a rumor.
