How do these account upgade shops work?

    How do these account upgade shops work?
    They sell upgrades for 3.50-4 USD, but the cheapest you can actually purchase a legal upgrade from jagex is 5 USD.

    How do they make any money from that? I remember there used to be account upgrade lines you could call and get them for free, but I havnt heard much of those lately.

    And I'm sure it costs money to figure out how to get them like that?

    Yup I'm sure it does. But they make their money back from selling the upgrades.

    Some people used to go in Apple Stores and buy membership pins via SMS. I don't know if they still do this though.

    but honestly I would just buy a legit pin from 7/11 because the ones sold here is illegal
