what shall i have for my rouge?

i made a rouge and its now level 10 before i go to BG's i want to know what to have
assassination
combat
or subtle

also can you explain why its the best?

Shadow step/ ambush, you will one hit almost everyone

 

Leveling, you'll most likely want combat. Rogues have multiple spells in the talent tree lateron that will allow for quicker killing of monsters and survival. Try spec'ing into the added armor from leather and recuperate to live longer.
Recommended weapons: 1 Sword (Shadowfang), 1 Dagger (BoA/Assassin's Blade)

Battlegrounds, you'll want to go assassination. It is currently, as of Patch 4.0.1, the best spec for Rogues in way of damage. Ambush or cheap shot, mutilate or kidney shot. Learn your class and find a way to balance your stuns while still taking away damage.
Recommended weapons: 2 Daggers (Assassin's Bladex2)

Now, Combat can also be very deadly in PvP, and Subtlety may have its perks as well, but you'll have to take the time to practice these specs alternatively, and find which works best for you.

 

For pvp sub because damage is out of control right now if you want to actually learn how to stun lock do the following

sap--->cheap shot-->2 hemos--->4 pt or 5 pt kidney shot you can get about 3-5 hemos off there or you can go with backstabs it's your choice.

Muti is good to the damage is well but if you wanna lol and run around killing random people sub is the way to go.

combat you aren't as squishy but i wouldn't recommended combat style pvp anyway feels to clunky.

Depending on your lant you can play backstab i currently can't because I'm always at 100+ lant 80 off peak.

Also if you play muti you MUST use daggers and you play sub Daggers will give you more damage due to talents and i believe combat is swords

 

Let me break this down for you.

At higher levels, subtlety spec is almost required for PvP Rogues. All the talents scream PvP. However, the original post states that he is just level 10, whereas Subtlety is useless.

What about Premeditation first? Hemorrhage is available at level 29, and Premeditation at level 39, I believe (otherwise 27/37). With doing a sap, you want to make sure you're somewhat farther away as well, in case of trinket use or passive abilities (Human passive ability, etc). If you fail to do so, they may pop out of the stun, aoe to break your stealth, and then stun-lock kill you. Also, Hemorrhage is very difficult to get 5 combo points off of in time for doing Kidney Shot if you don't start off with Premeditation in my opinion, but I suppose it depends on the situation. You must adapt to the situation you encounter, making these least mistakes possible and get the kill.

Mutilate is currently the best talent tree for damage for Rogues.

This depends as to whether you spec into Reinforced Leather or not, and have a high amount of resilience to accompany it. Combat PvP can have it's advantages, but I believe are outweighed by the disadvantages, as only Killing Spree is relatively useful. Even then, Killing Spree can be counter-productive is a Druid uses thorns, as you'll end up killing yourself before you can deal enough damage for the kill.

To use Mutilate, it requires daggers, as Fan of Knives requires a thrown weapon. If someone spec'd into Mutilate with having only one dagger, I'd be extremely disappointed.
Combat is mainly Sword/Axe now, but had been Sword/Dagger, Fist/Dagger, and Dagger/Dagger in the past (days of Naxxramus and Ulduar).

Muti is the highest ''SUSTAINED'' damage sub is about controlling the fight i was mistaken i forgot hemo isn't subs baseline ability shadow step is. everything i tried to recommend was for low level combat i didn't add resil or pvp trinks into it. Some humans at low lvls don't really treat the racial as a trink.

Yes i did jump the gun at level 10 muti is the way to go as far as pvp i never was a fan of combat spec.


also lol at anyone who specs muti and don't use dual daggers XD

Ps: i did well as a sub rogue when i got cheap shot/ambush. even cheap shot was game breaking for me.

 

Sub is probably the best for now, go with that.
