    Choosing A Guitar?

Pretty Much you can't Go wrong with a Dean or Ibanez, this is the Dean I got when I first started. DimeBlade Which is was only 200$ I still play it now its my baby will never get rid of it :)

Then this is what I bought after I graduated :D Razorback Cemetery Gates Tribute

So pretty much there are a great amount of options and varieties that you can choose from, Don't Order online because your going to be buying something 100$+ So go to a Guitar Shop and Try a few out get a feel of the guitar because your definitely not going to get stuck with a guitar you don't like the feel of.

As for a AMP, I have a Line6 Which has been been pretty nice, it does the trick has multiple effects you can turn on and off.
The Spider III is perfect for a beginner and is only $100 for 15watt <--Which Is plenty I dont really Go above 4 When at home.

You wont really need a Amp with a great amount of watts unless you know your gonna have to be loud, And again with the Amp as well take a look at a guitar shop or something Always try before buy :p

If you have questions about playing you can pm me as well, maybe give ya some lessons :)

What Kind of music do you plan on playing?
    Bands that inspire you?

Dean's are fairly good too. I'm quite fond of their Dime's. Personally, I wouldn't really bother with an Ibanez if you could get a Dean or a Warlock. Especially for the sound you want o-o...

EDIT: Do you live in Canada? If so I could give you a pretty good site for guitars o-o

    I live in the uk.

I really like the look of the BC rich warlock, however when I search on amazon etc. there are quite a few to choose from and only a couple that fit my budget.

Hmm... The UK. Well, I'll look on Amazon for you, the budget is 200-300, right?

That's the BC Rich I was looking at before, and I couldn't decide between that and an Ibanez GIO as per the suggestions on this thread:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=ibanez+gio&x=0&y=0

Hmm, I've never really seen an Ibanez GIO before. I just looked up some Youtube videos and it sounds like it's less "chunky" sounding than the Warlock. You'll be getting more of a Guns And Roses sound from it, rather than a deeper Bullet For My Valentine sound. The problem with the Warlock is that I've never seen it perform too well clean. So you'll be wanting to play with overdrive on all the time. The GIO, though, seems to do a decent job with clean settings on.

Sorry, I don't know what you mean by clean, or what overdrive is

But yeah the warlock definitely seems to be my first choice right now. I love the sound it produces and love the look of it even more. ^_^

    Choosing A Guitar?

Ok thanks. I like the overdrive one a lot more, it's more of a heavy sounding, probably more suitable for playing metal songs lol. Thanks for your help, now as for the guitar, would you say that I should get the Warlock? And if so, will the price be cheaper on amazon or in store, and how likely is a music store to have this particular guitar in stock?

    Choosing A Guitar?

Well, I've played a Warlock once and it was pretty sweet... The way the guy had the action set up was perfect (you should see about getting the guitar's action set up as well.. Oh and get a guitar Tuner, you'll need it, rofl) so I'd suggest the Warlock, I was never a big fan of Ibanez... As for the rest, well, I live in Canada, so I'm not too sure how much it would apply to you, but about 8/10 guitar stores I go to, have a BC Rich Warlock. Usually in the $250-$700 though (CAD)... So I have no clue if it would be cheaper in store or not :/...

Ok cool, what do you mean by the guitars action? And does a guitar tuner like, automatically tune the guitar, or tell you what you need to do to tune it?

Sorry, I have no idea what any of this vocabulary means, it could help if you made a small list of words relative to guitars and their definitions

Oh, sorry it took long to respond  there's lots of stuff going on right now (fucking drama...)... You can find out what a guitar tuner is via google, easily xD if you still don't get it, I'll tell you in a bit

You forgot me in your sig ;]

On topic: Get a basic guitar that is not too much just in case you get bored.
Search Google for easy songs that you could play so you can get used to the guitar.

If this didn't work, Try and get in a 1 on 1 session for guitar lessons.

    Good luck!

Eh with Guitar Turner its not really necessary, once you learn what the guitar sounds like when its in tune and what not you should be able to tune by ear, which saves ya 10-30$

Oh if I get the free time I'll upload a Vid for ya with my dean and line 6 so I can show ya what you can get out of the amp :)

Only to tune it to itself..to tune it to what it should be you need a tuner unless you have pefect pitch. IMO the inexpensive deans are kinda shitty, I'd go with the ibanez. Also, make sure that what you're getting *does not* have a floyd rose / double locking trem system or you're going to go crazy trying to tune it.

I'll look into getting a tuner, I hope they are not too expensive lol. What do you think about the BC rich warlock? And thanks, I'll bear that in mind ;)

Agreed on the Floyd Rose thing. My first guitar had one and I went crazy trying to tune it, and eventually traded it back in. Shame because it was one sexy guitar. I too prefer Ibanez's to BC Riches or Deans, You really can't go wrong with one.
