Irc

It's rather empty most of the time now. I would say either just get rid of it or do some sort of promotion to get people back into it.

 

From my knowledge, interest has been lost it in for the time being. I had messaged Karl contemplating whether to make a thread in Community General to bring activity back to the IRC, but we were uncertain if it would accomplish anything.

If people want to join, they will. However, I don't feel it's public enough for people to think about joining on a daily basis.

 

I'd go on IRC, but it tells me there is 0/1 channels on irc.sythe.org

 

Not many people go on the IRC, because you need to download a client!

 

Yeah it took me a month to learn the process. Maybe build something easier to use?

 

If you guys find out a way to make a webclient and take out the trading aspect of it, I think that would work the best.

 

I would be in it all the time if I could figure out how to join it, but I think if there was a web client a lot of people would use it

 

I honestly don't understand how people have so much trouble joining it...

2)type /server irc.sythe.org
3)type /login *your irc token*
4)type /join #IRCSythe
Then talk. =/

 

Why not use swiftkit IRC? It's fun and easy.

 

The IRC is really simple. I think most people are just to lazy to download it, figure it out and then log on it every day.

 

I rarely join it due to the token being annoying to get.

 

Click it, then refresh your page, click it again. Not that hard.

 

its not really annoying to get, after all its only there to eliminate the possibility of someone scamming under your name or causing trouble under your name.

Swiftkit can be used, you just change the settings and add it to the server list

I like opening mIRC, and then 5 seconds later being in the channel with hitting basically nothing.

 

A few of us have been using the unofficial irc and CC that are in my sig.

Personally, It should go back to the old fashioned ircd with nickserv ect and not needing your IRC token from the website, ect.

 

After I figured out how to join, I realized there is never more than 3 people in there >.>. I have heard that a web client will be coming though.

 

Using the internet lowers our attention span. Usually we do not like to spend more than a minute on one single thing, and obviously downloading the client and shit takes way more than just a minute. Besides, that's a lot of typing just to join one fucking chatroom.
