Black Ops Freezing! OMFG!!!

My Black Ops that I bought the day it came out(yesterday) keeps freezing or says "Disc is unreadable". When I start an online game on my XBOX360, it freezes or sometimes I am on the main menu and it freezes. It also says "Disc is unreadable" other times... It's pissing me off and I haven't played a complete game yet and I just want to get it to work. I figured it was the disc since it only froze when I tried playing Black Ops. I tried playing Halo Reach just to make sure it was the disc and not my XBOX360 and it worked fine. I called Microsoft and they said it was probably the disc if all other games work fine so I exchanged Black Ops for another copy in Future Shop. When I got home, I tried playing it but the same problem occurs. I know its not my XBOX360 since all the other games I have work perfectly.

Anyone here experiencing this problem with Black Ops or is it only me? Is there any way to fix this problem?

 

Same thing happens to me. I always install the game on my harddrive and then play off of it. It just needs to verify the disk. And when you bought it, did you buy any insurance on it?

 

I don't need to buy insurance/warranty with the game. If its not my fault that the game doesn't work, they will refund or exchange the game for me.

So what your telling me to do, is to install it in my hard drive then play try to play it?

Nope, my game is working perfectly fine, maybe the servers are bad where you live?

 

This has nothing to do with the game servers. Installing the game should do the trick.

 

I tried installing the game but then it said that the game isn't readable. I contacted Microsoft again and I was talking to this Chinese guy. He told me to install it which I did, but it didn't work. He suggest me to ask for a refund in Future Shop and try buying it from Wal-Mart. I will do that tomorrow after school and btw, on the back of the Black Ops covering plastic, it said that the game disc was made in Mexico. I don't know if that's the problem, I told the support guy and he said it shouldn't be any problem. Do you guys think that's true?

The same thing happens to me when I try to play Halo reach. Have you checked the back of the disk to make sure that it doesn't have any "perfect circle" scratches or anything? That's when you basically get a scratch that looks like a perfect circle, and is caused by putting the disc in the wrong way.

 

lol... no I don't have perfect circle scratches. Need to be pretty dumb to get one, no offense. The game disc was made in Mexico tho, that a problem?

 

anything made in mexico is a problem haha jk but try cleaning out your disc tray and the disc itself. also your xbox may actually be the problem.

The fact that it was made in Mexico shouldn't matter. My copy was made in Mexico too. The best thing to do now is to probably do what the rep told you.

 

He also said that many people lately have been calling concerning Black Ops. Thanks X3Flame for letting me know and yeah I guess that's the only option left.

 

It could just be one of those "bad copies" of the game i remember buying a game brand new it worked that first day then stopped working all together the next. I took it back and exchanged it for a new disc and everything was fine, and it didnt lag or freeze like the other disc.

 

I did exchange for another copy but that didn't fix the problem, maybe there was a flu and I got the bad copy then exchanged it for another bad copy... I'll ask for a refund and buy it from another store.

 

Ive done that to some times bad copies come in "packs" i read up on this and sometimes its not the disc like that disc may work with mine but not yours, its always been a pain in the ass, but is your xbox still under-warranty? If you get another game and its not working id send it off and tell them the games are freezing and what not and they will clan it up or send you a new one. I had to let the Xbox go because mine started doing that alot and there was alot of bad pixelation in game so i just finally bought a PS3 and so far no problems haha.....

 

Well I don't have warranty anymore but for a fact I know that it's not the XBOX's problem. The customer support guy said that he was receiving a lot of calls concerning Black Ops and all my other games that I have work perfectly fine on my XBOX. I'll just do the refund then buy another store. Thanks for your help Marine Clark.

 

No problem odds are all the copies from that store are what i like to call "Infected" ive been hearing that majority of the Xbox copies are doing this, but i havent heard nothing bout this with this PS3, best of luck and i hope you get it fixed lemme know what happens!
