    Losing Weight.

Ever since I was little I was a hockey player, and up until I was about 12 or 13 I was a freaking boss. Than the kids got bigger, stronger, and heavier. And I stayed the same.

Now I'm 18 and 120 pounds with a north face on. I'm not a health nut in ANY sense of that phrase. I just can't gain weight, I'd like to be around 140 but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Any suggestions as to a good method of weight gaining?

Eat junk food, it's not healthy but it's a good way to gain weight.
Also drink protein shakes, if you do not work out after drinking them you will gain weight, but if you want you could work out and gain muscles weight, it will just take slightly longer.

Hemp protein, YMCA membership to lift, lift until you ABSOLUTELY CANT lift more- the 11th and 12th sets are crucial, 2-3 days between lifts, and FREE WEIGHTS ONLY NO MACHINES VERY IMPORTANT.

Your diet won't matter much. Just remember that bulking up muscle isnt bulking up on meat. You dont need more than around 70g of protein every day.

    Losing Weight.

    If you smoke cigarettes stop,

When I was sent to boot camp I gained 5 lbs in 28 days.

all you need to do is wake up,jogg a few miles

Jogg back home, eat until you cannot eat anymore.

    Do a 15-30 minute exercise until 12 pm,at 12 pm eat a big lunch.

At about 3 pm go run more miles,do some push ups,and some sit ups,by then it will be 4 pm

At 4 pm eat a huge dinner until you cannot eat anymore.

rest as much as possible for the rest of the day,do more excersizes if you want, before you go to sleep eat a small snack.

This is the routine that got me to gain 5 lbs in one month (it was the first noticeable weight gain I've had in 4 years.)

Everyone listed a bunch of different methods and ways on what you should do to gain weight here, however. What you really need are guidelines and a boat load of motivation. People like you and I have REALLY high metabolisms, and generally speaking we have "good genes" a small fraction of population seeks to gain weight which is odd enough, especially if you live in America ha. Anywho, here is what I'd recommend you invest your money into, NOT JUNKFOOD!!! http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3480829 Yes this is a workout supplement but GNC is a trusted brand like many and inside this Mass XXX Amplified recipe are low dosages of creatine monohydratewhich will add water mass to your body. Hence the "low dosages" portion I typed up before. You're not going to want to take an all out creatine supplement such as Cell Mass because you aren't working out consistently and it will do nothing to you except give you nausea and diarrhea because you're not drinking close to a gallon of water daily. What Meowmitch said was closest to what I'm saying, however gaining weight will be extremely difficult for you if you don't keep up with this method I'm about to share. Any mass you're interested in gaining if at all you truly do is muscle mass. You don't necessarily need to be a health nut but you need to be consistent with measuring your calories in and calories out. Every day, ask yourself: Am I getting my daily amount of protein? (1 Lb = 1 gram of protein) Top athletes sometime consume 1.5 grams per 1 Lb of their weight, you on the other hand will simply excrete that .5 grams so don't go eating two roasted chickens from Wal-Mart. The second thing you need to do is, if you're taking GNC supplement specific to the one I recommended... drink over eight, eight ounce glasses of water throughout the day. Yes that's easy to do but throughout the day is the safest and easiest way to consume all that water. Another thing, if you think those two steps are enough and this last one isn't then you shouldn't of read this far into my reply! Working out is essential for someone with your build, if you can achieve 3 sets of 20 push ups at one sit down one day, and the next complete those same 3 reps throughout the day? E.G. one in the morning before school, one after school, one before you brush your teeth and wash your face for bed. Results will come faster than you eyes can blink (not literally, but they'll show soon enough) Eventually you'll be able to experiment with variations of push ups, which will target different parts of your core and body. I'm only using push ups as an example because there are many good bod building forums you can find that offer better, more sophisticated routines for you to study, learn and complete. Hope this gives you insight on what you're taking yourself into :)

Alot of peoples advice seem unhealthy eating junk food doesn't make certain people gain weight. Some people can eat as much junk as they like and not gain a pound.

One of my best friends has a problem like yours. He can't gain any weight at all, but I guess he has something wrong with his digestive system so he takes some kind of meds. But, you're best bet would be to put muscle rather than fat since it weighs more and is better for you.

Start out by doing some crunches, push ups, chin ups if you can do them. Then do dumbbell weights. Start out low, around 15-20 pounds if you can do 10 rep x2. Then gradually move up. Another great thing is benching, and squatting. It's kind of hard since I don't know how much you can lift to give you a starting weight, but try the bar (45 lbs) and see how it feels. After that, adjust accordingly.

Your best bet would be to see a doctor about gaining HEALTHY weight. You don't want to sit around drinking milkshakes all day and then dieing at the age of 40.

I did mention it was unhealthy, he asked how to gain weight, not how to gain weight healthely.

I would say go to your doctor, if it's that hard to gain weight the doctor should be able to prescribe you something.

You've got High Metabolism. In most cases, it is hereditary. My older brother had the exact same problem as you, he tried everything to no avail then went on weight gaining pills. Biggest mistake of his life, worst side effects imaginable. It wasnt until he was 21-22ish he could actually start putting weight on. Probably something to do with age. All I can advise you to do is see a healthcare professional, there are bound to be new methods these days. Unless you wait it out like my bro.

Um, I have a high metabolism, as that sounds like it's for your case too. I would never eat too much junk food, you won't gain weight the correct way for doing that. I'd say go to the gym two to three times a week. Bench/lift weights, jog, etc. It helps me, and it'll hopefully help you. Best of luck to you. ;)

Have you seen a doctor? You may have a metabolic disorder, although I doubt it. A lot of people in their late teens have a "skinny phase," and it intimidates them because most of the other guys in college are bulking up. I'm guessing this is the explanation, but a doctor will know for sure.

By the way, the tards who are posting "Eat junk food": Don't listen to them. Your health isn't worth 20 pounds. Junk foods have processed nutrients that your body isn't used to metabolizing, and they cause many, many more health problems than just obesity.
