How do you keep your bot on 24/7?

Hey sythe, I'm newish here. Been lurking for a while but never really posted or anything. I've been using RSBot which imo is a very good bot, but it fails randoms every once in a while. I see proggies posted all the time of people botting for 24-48 hours or sometimes even more non-stop. How is this possible? I've left my bot on overnight before but RSBot fails some randoms (*cough* prison pete *cough*) and I know getting stuck in a random is pretty much a red flag for being a bot. So what is your guys secret to botting for so long without a bug or without a random kicking in that your bot can't solve? Thanks ahead of time.

 

i have been stuck in prison pete probably 10+ times while ive been botting 24/7 on this account. ive been teleported probably 15+ times to random places cause the bot fails them. when people say they bot 24/7 they dont litterlly mean it is going for 24/7. alot of time the bot will crash and they will have to start it again. botting 24/7 just means they run the bot as much as they can. there will be times where you turn the bot on watch it for 30 minutes then leave for a day and come back to see that soon as you left the bot crashed. also times where the bot just is down due to update. but soon as it is up you turn bot on. my bot has been crashing alot lately but everytime i see it messed up i just restart it. but getting those 40+ hour proggies are just luck. depends how stable the bot is and how well it runs. if the bot is updated and everything is working fine then it is easy to get that 40+ hour proggy. if the bot is jackin around (like mine is atm) then it usually crashes few times aday. you just got to keep restarting it.

 

I had a 17 hour FM one but thats the longest one I had. A random had stopped me so I was up like 7 floors in the Fally Castle.

The random is dependent on the client. The only way to reduce it is to reduce your ping. Bot around 50 ping if possible.

Also RSBot/Powerbot is a little less sophisticated than the NeXus client. You may find that paid bots work better in some randoms.
