Finn, this post was amazing. Thank you for this insight and a new way for me to describe the potheads.

There are many people who smoke marijuana regularly and you wouldn't guess it. However, it's the outspoken minority that defines potheads. These people are annoyingly narrow-minded and one-sided in their views, which are usually over generalized. A shooting may, indeed, be the only cure.

Weed is beneficial. But they don't want you to have a sense of pleasure, they rather poison your liver/kidneys with alcohol. Convince me that there are worse side effects from weed than alcohol.

Now i'm not into this whole trendy dumbass highschool weed smoking. But I feel for those that like to come home from a long day of work and they just wanna light up a joint. It's their sanctuary and everyone deserves some place of happiness.

I'm glad that it didn't pass. It's funny that the pot-heads will complain all year, but very few actually go out and vote. Ironic.

Agreed. Surveys were done outside of certain polls and 1/10 people actually voted for it.

To be honest I do not see the point. The only people who would smoke weed after the bill was passed currently smoke it. Issue has been blown way out of proportion.

You're happy that the sale of marijuana is unregulated with all the profits going to gangs and non-violent productive citizens rotting behind bars? Shame on you.

Yeah. It's not like the government could do with all that money or anything...
Having it legal removes the artificial inflation that exists because of prohibition. Prohibition = Giving up the opportunity to control and regulate. Should it pass, gangs won't be able to make profit off it anymore, exactly what happened with alcohol prohibition.
Allows the cops to dedicate all their time to pursuing violent criminals and eradicating hard, dangerous and toxic drugs such as meth.

The resources required by the DEA to enforce federal law in california would be enormous and the idea in unconstitutional. Medical marijuana is also against federal law yet only a tiny amount of clinics fall to abuse by the DEA.
The same happened with alcohol prohibition. The states decided enough was enough and repealed it, not waiting for the government to tell them to do so.

They add addictive properties to cigarettes so that people will continue to buy them for the sake of sales, because cigarettes don't do anything for you otherwise. Marijuana on the other hand, gets you high = a reason for a consumer to return for more. Say a corporation did add addictive properties to the marijuana they sold, they would have to inform the consumer that they have in fact done that.

The rates of use don't go up if prohibition goes, in fact they go down. We'll be stuck with more of these stereotypical potheads if anything.
You're happy that the sale of marijuana is unregulated with all the profits going to gangs and non-violent productive citizens rotting behind bars? Shame on you.

Why is it bad? If you're talking about the method of delivery, smoking joints, then yes it can be bad after prolonged use. The use of a vaporiser however, completely erases this.

You're complaining about seeing high people? How do they make your life harder?

People have the right to vote or not. It's a shame people don't vote, this could have been very beautiful. You have to take into account that people who were against prop 19 didn't vote either...

Indeed, I don't see the big deal of marijuana.
Living in amsterdam, It happens all the time here and alcohol does more damage then a little weed.

Thank you for doing saying what I was about to say to these irrational prejudice fools. Prejudice in the sense that they completely disgust marijuana and potheads with no logical sense. People high do nothing to intrude on their lives and live life perfectly fine as sober people. They have this prejudice opinion because marijuana is prohibited, so now gang members and lowlifes control it through the black market. Because of this, it effects the reputation of potheads. The release of prohibition would simply take this bad stereotype away and give potheads a better reputation. We wouldn't be contributing to gang members to destroy society, we'd be contributing to our society and making it a safer better place for our children.

It's been put on the ballot again and again for years now, and the yes votes are progressively rising. It didn't pass this time, next time it will. Everyone who says no is simply delaying the inevitable.

Proof? A month or so ago Arnold signed a bill decriminalizing marijuana. Come January 2011 possession of up to an ounce will warrant a fine of up to $100, and be considered an infraction, the equivalent of a speeding ticket. Won't be long before other states follow suit.

The prohibition laws are not making it harder for people to find weed. At all. It's a complete failure.

Sad that they did not pass this, especially seeing as it is California. They need it the most, but they voted no and in a sense it will come back to haunt them. Someone posted before, about the Mexican gangs running the weed sales in California. That is not even close, people go to California to pick up weight of marijuana, pounds and pounds and then drive back across the states to distribute it. The weed is grown in California and is sold from cali. The government does not know how much money they would have made from passing this. I personally made a little over $28,000 from sales last year, I now make $0 a month from it as I got 'popped' if you choose not to believe that, cool I do not care but I have a brand new Cadillac cts to show for it, which the local police absolutely hate but it is simply the truth. My 'guy' would go 2 weeks every other month to grab anywhere from 25-45lbs in a rental vehicle and travel back and split the packaging up, so this I know from personal experience. Although I agree it is slightly good it did not pass, because of the 'i love herb' people who just simply are bums and give smoking pot a bad name.

if you didn't know, Florida has the harshest weed laws in the nation. Doesn't stop me from having fun though

BTW: you do realize that alcohol is more dangerous than Weed. Before anybody quotes me on this, Look it up yourself.

The first part of your statement I find to be false. North and South Dakota are just if not worse as strict on marijuana. Any amount is a felony, Gram, Dime, Dub, Quad(Quarter) anything, and you are raped for it in the ass. Not to mention any type or paraphernalia they will automatically assume its an opiate piece, test it, find its THC and then charge you with a felony anyway. I am not saying Florida is not as hard, because I am sure they are. I just know that when I was in Florida on vacation it was rather easy to find a hook up, and in North/South Dakota, that is pretty much unheard of.

Second part I agree 1000% with mate, good looking.

i live in north dakota and they do have strict laws for it but there was a person at my high school who got caught doing it and he just got a little slap on the wrist for it, i think they only really care if you're an adult, nothing really happens to you if your a minor and get caught with it

Its the same degree with being raped in the ass for having it on you or anything like that in Florida lol, not saying that its not up there. I THINK it's easier to find weed because florida is on the water and there are many ports where people can transfer them here. Also, it's probably easier to grow in florida compared to in north and south dakota, but again I don't know for sure.

I should of said that Florida is one of the harshest states regarding weed.

Thanks for agreeing with me on the second part lol
