Do you think prison has a positive or negative affect on people.

Why or Why Not.

Personally I think there are certain circumstances where it is a bit much
for someone to have to go through the "system".
Since the dawn of time there has always been some type of disciplinary system for actions that have a negative impact on others that pass a certain "point".

I think that for people who are convicted of murder under which they were fully aware of their actions let it be an "eye for an eye" situation. They disregarded the victims care for life and therefor should be dealt with via execution.

A little off-topic but back on:

Yes, I think that Prison is a good thing. It keeps our families safe from habitual offenders such as rapists, murderers, and just any person unfit to live in society without doing something to harm others.

What's your opinion ?

 

I think the system is fine as it is, why? because they suffer, and quite honestly, they deserve to. It is meant to have a negative effect on people.

Do you not think execution is an easy way out for them? its almost they're getting away with all the remorse, if you lock someone up for life, that'll be alot more distressing, and a much more fitting punishment

They are there for a reason. Only thing I could find wrong is, someone is there for something they didn't do.

 

I think prison is good, depending on the crime. Theres no reason taxpayers should have to support someone for the rest of their life. I agree with prison when it is for holding non-violent offenders for a short period of time. People that are violent in prison just prove they don't have what it takes to life on the outside like a civilized human. They need to be either dealt with via euthanasia or some other method that doesn't cost everyone else money.


Prison should be like a school where people are reeducated for outside life, not a zoo to hold animals. If they are too violent to be civilized, they don't deserve to have the effort put into them.

 

Prison should be the sentencing for all criminals, convicts, murderers, rapists, and whatever else there can be. Why? The death sentence is the easy way out for a person. Letting them spend the rest of their lives in jail will teach them how terrible their life is.

 

I think prison isn't that bad. i think its kinda funny no really work , u get food without u need to make it;..

 

It's a necessary evil. I'm not even concerned with what it does to people, thinking of the people that don't belong in the sense of prison you're referring to, i'll actually have to say Lil Wayne said it best..

Prison is a joke the only hard thing about jail is learning how to survive inside once you have that you are gold. Some guys actually go back to jail because they get free meals and a place to sleep they only have to worry about gang issues or watching their backs.

It could have a negative impact or positive some people could come out with a jail mentality towards life and lash out at people or be rehabilitated.

 

I know what i say is never going to be put into place, but i agree with Guides R Us.

Some criminals should be given the "eye for an eye" punishment. I don't care if that is inhumane, because that is what they actually did. They need to know, understand and feel the pain they had brought to the victim.

Many rape victims are left scarred for the rest of their lives, and most are even too afraid to report it.

I read somewhere where a few teenage kids tortured another teenage kid for about 39 days before she died. They tortured her through really gruesome ways, ( i'm sure you can find it on google ), and in the end, they were just jailed for about 10 years or so? What the fuck?

Therefore , i feel for less serious offenses , criminals should just be thrown into jail, councilling and get out.

Whereas for more serious offenses, they get the EYE OF AN EYE PUNISHMENT.

It's true that in prison, you have your maximum rights, as long as they don't affect society in any way. (United States, no voting for example)
But your point that people enjoy it is a bit extreme.

It is true, that people who was in a jail for decades will want to go back because they just can't get used to normal society.

But how many cases have you actually heard about?
That people recommited crimes just to get back into jail?
How many cases, out of all the people in jail?

That was just a bit extreme.

Maybe you would have been more convincing if you didn't just hit it towards the end ...


And this is what I think about prison:
It keeps us sepearted from criminals. It quarantines them.
I believe that the eye-for-an-eye solution is OK, but that's considered a bit too barbaric for modern society... I don't think that it would fit in

 

Lol sorry, but those people really do get my emotions stirred up...

on the news so many of such cases are reported, and yet, many are gone unreported too. can you imagine how many that is???

therefore it goes to show the current punishment is not enough to deter people from commiting such crimes.

hence, it will be better for the EYE for an eye solution. Why?

This will surely deter at least 60% of the potential criminals, or maybe even up to 90% of them

Who would like themselves to be killed in a horrible , tortuous method.

Unless they are the small percentage ( maybe the remaining 10% ) of mentally unstable people, they wouldn't. ( or those who are unable to control their temptations . )

 

I just sat in jail for 2 months, I do not think prison is at all any different, maybe the boys act a little 'harder' but I do believe that they way they have it set up is fine. Although to be completely honest, they need to fix the food or whoever makes that shit because it gave me the shits for 2 weeks constant, I didn't think my stomach would ever pull back together. But I spose criminals really do not deserve any sort of good treatment.
