    What is death?

Well you were something before you were born, just more likely you were a different form of energy thus why you have no conscious thought of ever being such.

    What is death?

Of course your a form of energy. Energy cannot be destroyed. Therefore it is transferred from the womb into the fetus.

    What is death?

So the fetus is just a host for this energy? Nonsense, let's keep souls out of the discussion.

    What is death?

Were not talking about souls, were talking about energy in its purest state. Energy is infinitely changing, as is the matter that it flows. So what were saying is that you were something before life just not anything you will be able to know, remember, or even comprehend.
A soul could be called this, like many other descriptions for it. But, if we stick mainly to the religion form of a soul then no were not talking about one.

    What is death?

I see your banned, but I disagree. How can this energy travel? The energy we are today is from the placenta in the womb, which helps develop us as fetuses. But that's really not what this thread is about, we're straying off topic.

Our energy cannot evaporate once we die, and there was an actual experiment done to see if when you died, something left and you weighed less. The experiment was a success, and when the subject 'died' (yes, it was a human being), the body lost weight. Could that be actual death? And could this be the mythical 'soul'?

    What is death?

Do you believe you can come back from death? IE, all body processes stop, yet you are 'reborn' persay, as in you become alive again?

    What is death?

well ive had an experience with family my grandfather has 3 stage 4 cancers
Prostate cancer, brain cancer, Lung, cancer.
and he died for 30 Minutes and they revived him and hes still alive to this day (2 years later) and the nurse that saved him told us all at the hospital that everything in his body that functioned shut off 100% and he still survived for 30 minutes without oxegen to the brain or anything so i think death is just when your body has no oxegen left cause even after you die im sure you still have oxegen left in your body but it slowly escapes you thats my 2 cents.

    What is death?

Well, our buddies over at ChaCha said:

    http://www.chacha.com/question/what-is-the-longest-a-person-has-been-dead-but-was-then-revived

So I guess that ^ could be true, although a source would be appreciated.

Anyways, I think "death" basically means that the heart as stopped beating.

    What is death?

Death is the defeat of body by heart(the heart is an involuntary muscle), one's existence is superfluous.

    What is death?

Reviving somebody after 6 hours of being "Dead" isn't rebirth, it just means the revivee wasn't "Dead" after all... ^^

    What is death?

    Finally unbanned =P
And what I merely meant was that energy is the basic form of everything since is can only be transferred and does not disappear. Same as with matter which is also apart of this, since i had previously mentioned that these two primal elements compose us yet they are ever changing throughout time.
But yes i agree that in a theoretical sense this could be the soul, since the soul is a piece of us that is only alive by itself and cannot be traced or tracked its merely a tool of faith. But if we give it some sort of basis, such as the energy we lose from death or the matter that we lose as we decay and it changes to something else. Yes these could be considered a soul and when these are lost then there is the possibility that this is true death.

    What is death?

Death is the absence of life? So we'd have to define life then...
