[SUPPORT] "Banned" member profiles contain link to reason for ban! [SUPPORT]

i was just about to add this in, i think it should be for all members eg. if an extremely trusted pin seller or such gets banned for rude language towards staff then i guess it could be deemed safe to continue trading with him.

 

I like the idea but most would prefer you to look in the were did _ go thread.

In theory it's a nice idea, but there's hurdles that need to be overcome.

1) What happens to accounts banned pre-implementation
2) What do they put for private bans?
3) How do you plan on getting this implemented? An extra box when banning someone?
4) Are you asking for a link or a reason? I'm confused.

 

Gohan, this is simply so that people don't HAVE to look in "where did __ go". They can go immediately to the profile and find out. A little extra work to improve the well-being of Sythe goes a long way.

Maybe it is even possible to have a script that gives the mods a dropdown box detailing reasons.

1. Pre-banned accounts don't change. It's just for accounts onwards.
2. Private bans are "private". Something like scamming would be public, something like "died in a car crash" can be private. Private generally means they didn't leave on a bad note with the Sythe community.

I like the idea, I'm just pointing out the fact that there are hundreds of newly banned vader accounts that go unnoticed.

I'd support only if the ban reason was for members who met a certain criteria.

Use the where did ___go thread, its there for a purpose. Almost every question is answered pretty fast in it.

 

Limited support. The "Where did X go" thread is sufficient for my "why did he get banned" needs.

 

Id support this but they have already said somewhere else that sythe members bans are private but its really not that hard between the spam forum and the "where did they go" thread

 

I support this. I don't think it has to be a link, just something small like writing "ban evasion" or "scamming".

If it's private, I would think it'd be for for a mod just to write that. "Private"

Maybe something to institute from now on.. it be a pain to edit all banned users from the past.

 

Keep in mind: This isn't only for KNOWN members of Sythe. It's also for people who deal, or dealt regularly in the Sythe market, got banned, but still remain in contact with other Sythe members.

The banned Sythe member could easily make up a story saying that they got banned wrongfully, when in actual fact, they could have scammed. By inserting the reference into the persons profile, it becomes easy to check whether they're telling the truth.

 

Do not support. If it was to happen, it would only take effect after this was approved, defeating your purpose of looking at older members ban reasons.

 

Maybe I worded that wrongly. I meant members who had been around longer (AND THEN GET BANNED AFTER THIS), not members who had been banned BEFORE this suggestion could take place.

Then why do we have a "where did _ go" thread? It is mostly filled with why did _ get banned.
