So he wanted a kid to "take a walk with him" and he was carrying a gun.

I hope he gets locked up to be honest.

He cant really say anything to help him.

    Legal trouble.

Well honestly considering there under 18 the kid that didn't have the gun should be fine I live in miami and a lot of my friends do gang related stuff so this actually happened to me kind of they mainly just asked me questions about my friend who was being charged and they told me if I didn't cooperate they would throw me with him for assisting a felon . Tell your friend to just stay quiet and not to say anything when questioned ...He should be fine.

and are you sure a mask in public is a felony?

Honestly if nothing happened and they didn't find anything i'm not sure how he's being charged?

I don't think that wearing a mask in public is a felony, and they can't prove that they were planning to commit a felony.

How did the assault charge come in?

Sounds like they have absolutely nothing on him. The kids that ran away probably told their parents that he threatened them or some bullcrap. Just get everyone to get their story straight and don't rat. You might get into a tiny bit of trouble, if you don't cooperate though.

    Legal trouble.

Assuming that is the true story, at the end of the day, nothing will happen as long as your alibis match up. Also, does he have an authorized license to possess a gun? Since he's under 18, I'm assuming not. If he get's convicted, charges will increase if the gun is found without a license. It's not wise to post this on the internet, claiming that he actually did have a gun. Who knows what they would look up.

Be more careful next time. Tell him to expect further search warrants and for investigators to interrogate witnesses and friends.
