jail is a neccassary punishment but i think it really should be death for heaps of people. kill one person get jail kill 2 then u die. rape and murder a defenceless girl or a child u should be killed by the fathers hands.

Jail is a necessary** punishment to a certain degree.
Just like 'felonies' have a certain hierarchy in-which a person is punished accordingly - jails have different levels of confinement.

Murder generally throws a person in isolation for quite a while. The punishment of not leaving a 4X4m room for months at a time is quite adequate in my eyes.

The case where jail isn't necessary is where a person; once already in jail is caught doing something wrong, whether it be a fight or just drug dealing (it doesn't matter on their reason for being in jail the first place).. if they cause any problems in jail, they are automatically thrown into the same punishment that a murderous man would be facing. People can be forced in jail to commit acts they do not want to participate in and the same goes for real life.
