How to turn off keyboard backlight?

My laptops original keyboard pretty much melted internally due to it being a piece of shit. But, the backlight turned on somehow and will not turn back off no matter what I do.

When I go to Windows Mobility Center or whatever, the keyboard backlight option is not in there. I'm looking for a way to uninstall the fucking lights completely without taking apart my rig. Any suggestions?

Have you tried pressing the fn key, and then the right arrow key together to try adjusting the backlights? Also can you give us the model of the laptop if that doesn't work, so that we can maybe give you help for that specific version? Thanks.

How to turn off keyboard backlight?

My bad, I was pretty irritated with the light I forgot to put all that. It's an Asus G60VX. The problem is, the F3 key doesn't work at all. The Fn-F3 combination is supposed to turn down the keyboard brightness but it doesn't due to it being melted/broken/whatever.

Try hooking up a USB keyboard that has an Fn key in it? That might work, then just shut it off. Let us know how it goes.

You could possibly reassign the F2 key as the F3 key and use the Fn+F3 toggle then.

On-screen keyboard didn't work. I don't have a USB keyboard with a Fn key and I'm not going to buy one.

If a key combination includes FN, that typically means it's the laptop is doing the work internally through some hardware; it's nothing that can be done by software (typically). You won't be able to press FN+F3 with an onscreen keyboard or another keyboard. So unless you can repair the keyboard or write drivers, you're pretty much out of luck.
