    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290491143405#ht_1060wt_932

whats you opinion is it worth it and what is maximum I should offer for it.

Looks like a decent rig, although the graphics card is getting fairly old now. It is a decent one, everything else looks fine though.

How long do you think this can take me before having to upgrade, what is the best mediocre graphics card out right now and how much does it cost.

Far too expensive for what you get. If you scroll down it lists some of the prices that the parts apparently cost.

    · Pre-loaded win 7 64bit Ultimate EDITION- £295

If you're up for paying £300 for an operating system, well.. I guess that's your choice.

You're mistaken, amazon sells it for £167. Almost half the price.
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-W...WGII/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1288367898&sr=8-1

I would never pay that much for an operating system but hey..

OT: The link in the OP, if I'm honest you really don't need a computer that good. The only reason you would buy that would be for the gloating rights.

    I have:
    Intel Core i5 750 Processor
    ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series
    4GB Corsair DDR3 RAM
    500GB Western Digital HDD @ 7200rpm

I paid around £500 for that, custom built.

Save your money and pick the parts yourself. I would avoid the item in the OP at all costs.

It does the job, it runs what I need it to run and it does a damn good job of it.

A tip, when buying a computer, ignore the look of it. Sure, when buying it the flashy neon lights are pretty cool but the novelty wears off fast. You'll also probably end up putting the tower underneath your desk or to the side of it, so you'll hardly even notice them.

Good luck on finding your perfect pc.

The case on this rig is pretty awesome though in my country their not common. Thanks for the help but an i7 920 processor would be my ideal as its future proof :)

That's like the bottom of the barrel for i7 processors. I picked that processor up a year ago. It's like a 260 USD processor, not a 250 Euro processor. That's a 360 USD motherboard, not a 330 Euro one. You could pick the ram up for 130-150 dollars, not 270 Euros. He doesn't mention the manufacturer of the SSD, probably so you can't fact check. It's a nice rig, probably not worth what he's asking for it, though.

After doing research and everything for each individual part I offered £700 for the system which was instantly denied. If hes desperate I would presume he might take £800-900 as university fees are a killer!

How can I convince him to take my offer I'll pay upto £800 for this system as It's got a future proof specs.

Give up on the one you linked in OP. It looks pretty sketchy and he's giving you false information on the prices, do you really trust him?

    If you are US/China - www.newegg.com
    If you are outside US/China - www.ebuyer.com

Buy the parts and assemble it yourself. You can build a 'future proof' one for ~£700, if you aren't confident doing it yourself get a friend or family member to do it. If you know no one who can do it, take it to a PC repair shop and ask them to do it, they may charge you £50-100 but you'll still be saving in the long run.

EDIT: I can help you pick out parts if necessary.

Alright I'll give it a go myself. I've got a friend who might also be able to help me.

By giving up on the PC in the link do you think he could of lied about some of the specs etc

cause I don't have very much time and I need a gaming spec computer ASAP as I also need a computer for my school studies with allot of ram so planning to kill two birds with one stone.

I'm going to calculate prices using those sites you given me I'll contact you if I need some assistance :)

I wouldnt spend that much on a gaming rig. You can get one that will play Crysis and all the other high-end games for less than half of that price. Purchasing such a computer would be overkill. In a couple of years the Core i7 processors will be far cheaper and there will be another more powerful one out.

You could build a high end PC for only a third of that, at about £500.

Start off with the Motherboard, because that is what all the parts connect to. Also bear in mind what sort of CPU you want to get (e.g. AMD vs Intel) because the CPU connects to a non-replaceable socket on the Mobo.

Then start to look at RAM - the higher the better. DDR3 is out which is better and slightly cheaper than DDR2 etc

Then get a good Graphics card. If your going to be playing some graphic intensive games like Crysis etc, then you should spend MORE on your GPU than your CPU, because that matters more when gaming.

The last things you need to consider are the DVD/Blu-ray Drives, Hard Drives (Dont bother with an SSD - get a Veloci-raptor instead.), a decent PSU and a Case.

Thanks for the effort I'm liking what I'm hearing from what you mentioned what would you recommended for me for each component if you could also list the component price then I'll get a ruff idea on how much I have to invest.

    Thanks

wow. that guy you were linking too was claiming to have spent 3k pounds on it.. wtf? he's retarded. You can get a brand new game rig that'll handle anything out as of now and for a few months ahead of time for like 600NZD. do you know how strong the pound is to the NZD? maybe not as much since the recession, but a crap load none the less.
