PS3 or 360

An obvious choice would be to go for the new, slim models of both. I bought a ps3 slim and imo I didn't really enjoy it as I am an online gamer, so I returned it and got an xbox 360 slim. It fulfilled everything that I wanted out due to its huge online community. It's just me though, I don't like games focused on single-player as I would much rather online. It also comes down to what exclusives of each console you like better basically. I would agree that ps3 is a better system altogether, but it lacks an online community, in which all my friends are in (xbox). It really all comes down to your situation and your interests. Here's a list to help you decide which console is for you!

PS3 Slim Pros:
- More affordable $299 price;
- slimmer, more compact design with quieter operation;
- all games in high-definition; easy-to-use interface;
- doubles as a Blu-ray and upscaling DVD player;
- built-in Wi-Fi;
- HDMI output with 1080p support;
- built-in Web browser; free online gaming service.

Ps3 Slim Cons:
- Lacks backward support for PS2 games;
- no infrared port means non-Bluetooth universal remotes aren't compatible;
- online gaming, media, and commerce options still aren't as fully developed as Xbox Live, though they're getting better.

Xbox 360 Slim Pros
- Nearly silent when compared with the original 360.
- Smaller with a slimmer look.
- Built in wireless N and its fast.
- Integrated optical audio.
- 5 usb ports.
- Internal, but easily accessible 250gb HDD on the bottom of the console.
- Uses half the power of the original.
- Works with most of the old accessories, including the transfer cable.

Xbox 360 Slim cons
- The IR receiver is located lower on the console and appears to have a narrower field. So depending on setup using a remote maybe a headache.
- Only comes with standard def av cables.
- Does not use the old memory cards or hard drives.
- Touch sensitive buttons that when touch emit a soft tone.
- Kinect ready socket in the back.

 

ps3 dude... blueray.. and specific ps3 games for the system are miles ahead of xbox 360's.. e.g. uncharted 2.. god of war 3 etc

and online is free bro

More of my friends play on it.
Controllers are better for me
I like the 360 exclusives.
Although this is entirely up to me.
I would easily get the PS3 if I liked the controllers but I don't. xD

This is the best post I have EVER seen in a PS3 vs Xbox360 discussion!
My brother and I have a PS3 (I never play on it) but it is really cool.
Xbox360 is obviously more advanced in online than PS3 is but PS3 online is fun too.
Wathever you choose you probably wont regret it because they are both very good.

 

Xbox, I have played both and xbox has much better games for the old crowd. Also PS 3 doesn't really have that great exclusive games that aren't on xbox. Personally I don't like reacing games and that is a good portion of the PS 3 exclusive games so if you like racing then go with PS 3. Another con with PS 3 is their shooter games really aren't that great. ( I am talking about their exclusive ones, killzone> halo any day.)

I own a 360, have since 2006, and I'll just tell you not to get anything but a slim if you do.

I'd recommend a PS3 though. The only thing better about the 360 is the controller, way more ergonomic. PS3's is a lump with nipples.

I have both. I'd go for PS3.

I get way more into PS3 due to the graphics it has.

Xbox is fun and all, but it gets old. At least PS3 is now made sort of like the wii and can do motion graphics sorta thing.

Honestly have you played both? Which is making it much better in the game industry now? I lol'd fairly hard when you said I fail yet you had no constructive reason why. PS 3 is fun and I have played it quite a few times before and it's not the worst or anything I just don't prefer it over the 360 because of it's exclusive games and their focus on certain genre on racing games.

You cant really say it has better games, thats YOUR opinion, maybe someone else hates the games..

 

360 all day. Halo is just pure win. The main PS3 attraction is COD:MW2, which, funnily enough, is also a 360 game.

 

I've always disliked xbox controllers had the orginal xbox for years and the controller put me off. I'm going to say go with ps3 Its already ready for 3d gaming once released and it has a great range of games.
