Limewire shut down

Dont know if anyones heard this yet (but if you haven't), or if anyone uses it on here but its a pretty popular file sharing program..

The music industry has an indisputably fair case, and it was going to be shut down eventually.

Moved to general discussion.

Theres still plenty of ways to get your music,

and i was waiting for this thread, as i got the legal notice 2-3 days ago, and there was NOTHING on google about it.

 

You can still use other sites like Frostwire or Luckywire yes?

 

I was wondering when this site would finally be shut down.
My idiot sister used to use even after me telling her it's filled with viruses.

 

You have to be an idiot to get viruses from Limewire.

OT: This was bound to happen. I can't believe it took so long considering the amount of theft happening using their software.

 

This is a blackmarket site that abides by all US laws. Trading Runescape pixels behind Jagex's back is 100% legal. Stealing music from record companies is not. There are $500k+ lawsuits for individual people who were convicted of P2P software piracy (such as Limewire).



As a side note, go to Gomusic.ru for your music needs. It's like $.05-$.09 a song and 100% legal.

 

i don't really dl music since i dont have ipod so yea.....sucks for people who used it

 

Well she is 11 and she isn't good with computers, half of the films she downloaded I had to check they weren't porn, her computer slowed down significantly after limewire.
Limewire is (was) bad.

 

It was bound to happen sooner or later, at least I can still get free music!

 

About time too. I hope this is just the start, the music industry has suffered heavily because of programmes like these.

Limewire was getting old, now I just torrent my music I used to get crappy quality from limewire all the time, and it was rubbish for downloading many things at once (for me anyway).

There is still frostwire, same thing but better.
