Bring back the Dispute an Infraction

For obvious reasons:

- I've talked to many people who have told me that when they have PMed a Mod about their infraction, most responded back with "Take it to the Feedback forum, I won't change my mind.

Is that not rude? What's so hard about sitting down and talking back with the person? I can understand if it was warranted, but I feel like the responses could be more nicer.


To those who don't agree because infractions serve as warnings, I won't respond to it, we've been through this many times.

 

I adamantly support this.

90% of my infraction PMs have been "I don't change my mind."
..you can't even hear my side of the story?
Better yet, i've talked to other moderators and they said they don't believe it's warranted. So you'd expect them to reverse it right? Not to name names, but that moderator said that he doesn't reverse infractions he doesn't give. Wow, so infractions are permanent now? Either bring back the forum so more people can see what really happens when somebody gets temp banned or rages over an unwarranted infraction, and allow a second opinion on it.

That, or delete that part where it says "PM a moderator about your infraction." because that is a complete and utter waste of time.

 

Support. I have to Private Message a moderator, who gets annoyed and won't reverse it.

 

-I know for a fact most Mods either ignore them or get annoyed.

PMing mods turns into, "No I'm right. Its warranted." PMing other sectionals to reverse won't help. Globals most of the time just are like deal with it. Removing the section in the first place was pretty dumb tbh.

 

I respond to 100% of the infractions I give out to users if they send me a decent PM.....most users write me back apologizing about breaking a rule...

I've pm'd back and forth 10 times over a simple infraction before.

 

From experience, most cases where I have had an infraction disputed that I gave out the member has gone about it very rudely. If the member is respectful then I will no doubt review it - but when you get messages such as

I don't feel at all inclined to help them out :/

 

I understand baby. I was just mentioning other members who do it respectfully.

Why can the forum not be put back? It makes it easier for new members so that they have a place to ask about infractions. Its also a place so that new mods can see when they have messed up, so they won't again.

 

I still dont like the fact that they don't fade away once expired. But yes dispute and infraction fourm would be great to bring back.

 

Yes i support its stupid you get infraction for dumb reason and you cant to complain about it u cant?

 

Me also, they could last for a year and then get deleted.

Support, i had same problem, as i got few infractions from gravedigging and stuff that means nothing actualy and didn't necessary need to be infracted.

 

I support this. Allow them to fade away but still have an option for admins to pull up infraction logs (if that would ever be needed)

 

Gravedigging is against the rules... Why not infract for it?

I would love to support this but I know mods have A LOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT of work load as it is. They hand out hundreds on infractions weekly. If everyone starts appealing them, their workload would double. Keeping in mind that mods work for free, i don't support this suggestion.

I know some mods who haven't logged in for weeks, the least they could do is post in an infraction thread saying they agree or disagree with the infraction itself.
