How to get secret fonts on your YouTube channel

Ever wondered how people get fonts such as...

You'll probably notice you cannot just simply get these fonts when selecting a font for your YouTube channel. Well I'm here to show you how to do it.

First off, you'll need Google Chrome.

You can use Firefox for this too, if you get the Add-on Firebug. Though it will be a bit different then how I will show you.

Alright, first thing you need to do is go to your YouTube channel.



Continue by hitting the "Themes and Colors" button located near the top of your page, then click advanced settings button, which is located where the red box is in the picture below.



Now select any font of your choice. hover your mouse over the font name, then right click. Hit "Inspect element", a little box full of HTML code should pop up at the bottom of your screen.



Click the small black arrow seen in the red box in the picture, which will cause code such as

<option value="Verdanal">Verdana</option>

to pop up. Hover your mouse over the font value, and right click, then click "Edit Attribute"



The font value should highlighted, as in value="Arial" (the underlined part being the highlighted font name) change it to either Arial Narrow for the skinny, narrow font, or Arial Black for a bold font.



After you have done have done that, simply close the Inspect element via the (x) on the right hand side of it, then select the font you changed the value of (mine being Verdana, but you anyone works)



The hit save, and wallah! If you have done it correctly, you should have your new sexy font!

Sick guide mate. I have never really been handy with YT, and this is pretty interesting. Will have to try it out soon, planning on releasing some vids.

 

So this can be used with ANY font, right?

 

I'm really not sure. From what I know, it only works with Arial Narrow and Arial Black, but I haven't bothered to try any different fonts.

 

This is a cool idea, do you think there is anything else you can edit using this..?
