Baseball vs. Soccer

Soccer is loud and annoying and halfs are too long.

Baseball just fucking dumb.

 

Your post contributes nothing. Those aren't valid reasons for which sport is better in terms of athleticism, entertainment, and just the enjoyment of playing/watching it.

 

Vuvuzelas are pretty fucking annoying.....

 

As growing up playing baseball, I am partial to baseball, but soccer as a whole, they are in better shape. They are cases where that is not true, but as a whole they are generally in better shape.
I think baseball is funner to watch/play, but to the guy saying baseball is easy is an idiot. Baseball is one of the hardest sports to be good at.

 

Was the World Cup the only soccer you've watched? The only reason there was an excessive amount of vuvuzelas were because it was an African tradition. The World Cup was hosted in South Africa, etc.

How am I not staying on topic, the dude above said Soccer is annoying and loud, and Vuvuzelas were contribution to that in the World Cup.

And yea, I only watched the World Cup.... isn't it supposed to be the best soccer has to offer? I didn't enjoy it AS much as I do baseball... but the matches were good.

 

The poster above you had a horrible reason to why baseball is better and you added to it, but oh well.

And I only used the World Cup as an example because you mentioned vuvuzelas.

 

So... because you alone hate baseball it should not be a sport? I hate you, you shouldn't be considered as a human. Is that fair?

You think people who weigh near 300 pounds can't be an athlete?
Weightlifters, wrestlers even some footballers will be around that mark.

I think soccer is more enjoyable to play but baseball is definitely better to watch. Previous posters before me saying things like "you don't need to be athletic in baseball" are just ignorant. Michael Jordan was one of the greatest athletes of all time and couldn't even crack into the MLB.

OT: Baseball I'm pretty sure isn't even played here. A variant -- softball is, not sure how they differ but even that isnt very popular. On an international scale in terms of popularity, soccer will always > baseball.

 

Softball isnt that different, except 60 feet bases, and a lot more dangerous. International scale as well, of course it will be more popular, as more kids play it-which turns into more adults liking it. Baseball costs a lot more to play, you need balls, gloves, bats, helmets, bases, etc, whereas soccer you need a ball.

 

How is softball more dangerous than baseball?

 

Soccer is fun to watch because of the suspense.
Baseball shouldnt be a sport like many others said, all you do is throw a ball hit it, watch a semi fat guy try to run the bases then gets outted or something.

That is an ignorant comment. You obviously no nothing about baseball then. All you do is throw a ball? In soccer all you do is kick a ball then.

 

Soccer is way more competitive that baseball.
It's just about the most watched sport in the world (World Cup)
It takes talent to play; unlike hitting a ball.
The reason it's tied 0-0 most of the time, is because the goal keepers have a lot of talent, making amazing saves which saves the game for their team. Baseball is semi about strength IMO, because the stronger you are, the harder you hit which is 90% luck by the way you hit. Also, I always hear a lot of stories about MLB players taking steroids; but have you ever heard that about a soccer player? Nope.
I do watch/play both sports, but I'm just stating my opinion how I think soccer is better to play/watch. It does get annoying how people do call it a girl sport, when it has more contact than 75% of the other sports.

 

it is pretty easy to hit a ball going only 95 MPH that can dip, slide, curve, cut at anytime.

 

Give or take, you can just randomly swing at it, or can just put the bat out there and hope for the best.

 

Because when they make contact they always try to flop and sell it out.....

So 90% luck the way you hit? So I close my eyes and swing, I have a good chance at hitting a ball curving in on me that's going about 80ish MPH?

 

Doesn't mean the ball will go far, or you'll make it to the base.

I could kick the ball at the goal and hope for the best aswell. You can apply that concept to any sport.
