    Be less aggressive on infractions

I've been lurking around here and there, and for most mods it seems like you guys are aggressively giving out infractions to people. If they are newer members, delete their posts and give them a warning, if they are a little bit older members, give them an infraction but don't make a scene about it.

A good example, a friend of mine was infracted for posting an answer similar to mine in a thread, and was infracted for it. How hard is it to delete his/her post? There is no need to infract someone for something so ridiculous.

An infraction serves as a warning. But on most cases, I usually just warn the user unless they've been on Sythe for a good amount of time.

It should be the other way around. Older members SHOULD know the rules by now, I'm talking about newer members and how some of them are treated.

Yes, and in this case, I usually let them know as a warning. A perfect example would be threads without the appropriate picture. 90% of the time, I post on their thread informing them of what they need. If they are an older member, I infract.

Then why infract Weasel, and not just delete his post on Where did [name here] go?

Seems like it was a bit ridiculous to infract him for that.

He never complained about it, and he posted almost the same exact thing you said. Anyways, I don't have permissions in there since I'm not a Global.

Then just leave it next time, since I could pull out 200 other people who answered the same thing as someone else.

But it's not really just about that, It's just some people like I said, handing out infractions as if it were some sport.

Its different in the market. Infractions are an anti-scamming tool.

Infracting new users lets them know they cant just get away with 20 free bumps etc etc

Free bumps = spam, and spam = scam

I cant and even if I could I would still infract them once or twice depending on the severity.

If it's 5+ in a row, you should warn them. If they keep doing it then yes that deserves an infraction.

If the mods were really aggressive with giving out infractions, most people would be banned.

    Be less aggressive on infractions

First time = warning, usually by infraction but not always
    Second time = infraction
Repeat offences = more infractions/temp ban

    I don't see the problem.

    Be less aggressive on infractions

I only delete posts if it is excessive bumping or flooding a forum with useless spam and ridiculous offers. Again, an infraction already serves as a warning, so if we really wanted to be aggressive about it, we'd go through all of a user's post and infract them.

I don't think they are being too aggressive. Rather, I would edit the spammer's post with a short message saying that they are being infracted for their post, or that it serves as a warning to stop spamming.

    Keep Sythe retard-free.

    Be less aggressive on infractions

I don't think the moderators or the people who are allowed to hand out the infractions are aggressive on them.

I've gotten 3 infractions so far, and I was a newbie to this community 2 months ago.

Read the rules, its not that hard.

I support this I actually got a temp ban for repeating something similar to what you said Gohan, Even though I didn't read your post as I just scrolled down to answer his question, Firez was the one who gave it to me, not being rude or anything Firez but try and relax a little something like that doesn't deserve a infraction

The infraction system is more than lenient at the moment.

The number of infractions that you need to get temp banned is 5, instead of the 3 previously. Also, if you happen to get 5 infractions, the ban length is only 3 days long.

I have actually slowed down on giving infractions to people who do not have the right picures on their selling thread. I now just lock and tell them they need pics. However if they know what they are doing, then I infract.
