64 - 70 Smithing

Does anyone know the FASTEST CHEAP way to get 64 - 70 Smithing? If so, can you please list the item here and how many bars it will take to make that one item and I will do all the calculations myself. Thank you.

 

Making gold bars will be fairly fast and pretty cheap. You could also make steel bars which will actually make you some money but it's only like 30k exp per hour.

Gold Bars is your best option, another profitable option is making cannon balls from scratch may not be the fastest way but its very profitable.

Gold bars? The ore cost 284gp ea, and a bar cost 101gp ea, so I don't know why they'd be profitable.

One way that is at a relatively good speed is making Iron Knives. Bars cost 330 ea, and to make 5 knives per bar, you basically get all your money back. If you buy bars at a lower price and/or sell the knives at a higher price, then better for you.

 

Knives are a good idea, but if you're gonna do them then don't forget to use a sc hammer as the xp/hr is really low.

 

about the gold, sure its pretty hefty but the exp is very fast for smithing, 25 per bar. 25 x 28 + varrock easy achievement torso for the furnace and you have fast inventories. and if 284 -> 101gp is too steep a drop, you can make the bars into necklaces that DO sell, and that'd bring a bit more cash back and some crafting exp too.

 

Gold ores are only so inflated right now cuz of the recent Make-X update which speeds up gold smelting a lot.

They were at ~240-250 before the update.

 

I did cannonballs for 70 smithing.

 

do cannonballs youll make a bunch too, or knives, if u smelt ur own ores

 

if you decide to do gold bars make sure to get gold gauntlets for 2x the xp from family crest.

 

Steel bars make a good profit but the xp isn't as fast.

Cannonballs are like 18k xp/hr

 

You can make up to 1k an hour at the Edgeville furnace (assuming you use a full inventory and it's a one-use item like gold ore or iron ore), so use that for your smelting. You can make 1k knives an hour at Varrock West, so use that for knife calculations.


Basically, gold ores are about 60k an hour. Cannonballs are only about 17k an hour. Iron knives are about 30k an hour. However, 64 to 70 is a pretty small step. All three of these methods would work well for that small amount of exp, but I'd personally go with the Gold Ore. I'd rather spend the extra time goldfarming; you end up making more money that way in the end.

 

Smelt gold ores with goldsmith gauntlets. Without them it's pointless, slow and you'll end up losing tons money. If you're poor then iron knives or cannonballs are a very slow, but profitable way.

 

Gold bars with "goldsmith gauntlets" is your best bet in my opinion.

 

Gold bars with gaunts will get you 50-70k exp an hour, and is pretty cheap I would say.

Buying steel bars and making cannonballs yeilds 10-13k exp an hour and makes 200-250k profit an hour.
