I am not a big reader but I read a lot of books that were sent in to me while I was in prison for a good little while, I read some really good parenting books(my son was born while I was locked up), but I really enjoy YA novels. It makes me think of a simpler time.

 

Interview with a Vampire. No I haven't see the movies.

 

The Power of Now. This book changed my life. It' about spirituality, psychology or something along those lines. Some 10 years ago when I was 22 years old, a person on the internet recommended me this book, claimed it had helped him... whatever it meant. I don't remember how this person sold me this book to me, but I gave it a try never the less. I downloaded a pirated Audiobook version of the book and played it with the intention of healing or helping my self. I had a really nice day that day, a safe day. Sun was shining, brother was by my side playing games on his laptop, lunch was going to be made by my mom later, so I had zero things to worry about so I tuned in to the book 100%. The book helped me to accept myself, forgive myself and let go of whatever I held dear in me, my ego, my everything. I had to rebuild myself from that moment on, decide what my foundation is going to be. I chose that from that moment on I will only do what makes sense and it clicked on me. Whenever I chose to do something or not do something that made sense to me, i suddenly became more happy, I was no longer limited by my past self, past beliefs, all of that and fear was gone, I even wrote an email to some government guy asking for an interview... After many years I developed a new personality, a new ego so here I am.

 

I don't know if this counts but the Full Metal Alchemist graphic novel series!

Currently listening to Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink. Great book so far and very applicable to my life. I wouldn't say my favorite but still really good.

 

I've really been enjoying Brandon Sanderson's books lately.

The Great Gatsby is my personal favorite book. It's a great reminder money isn't everything and it can not buy true happiness.
