Thoughts on 2012

The 2012 phenomenon comprises a range of eschatological beliefs that cataclysmic or transformative events will occur on December 21, 2012, which is said to be the end-date of a 5,125-year-long cycle in the Mayan Long Count calendar. Scenarios posited for the end of the world include the Earth's collision with a passing planet (often referred to as "Nibiru") or black hole, or the arrival of the next solar maximum.

In my Opinion, I'm completley stuck in the middle. There really is no way for humans to tell when exactly the world is going to end, and to make an exact date seems a little far-fetched to me, wouldn't you say? Also, i would say anything could happen.. What if it does happen? What do you believe is after Death?
Many sources mention 2.1 billion Christians in the world (about one third of the total population of the planet), but estimating numbers is fraught with difficulties. What is included among the definition of 'Christian' is not agreed upon by many of the groups involved. Are you a Christian, and do you believe in heaven or hell? Or wouldn't you rather like to feel safe as to being with those 2.1 billion people that are, or have turned Christian? In my opinion, i would, and im getting ready and prepared for it!

IMO, i dont think anything will happen in 2012.. like i mean its just another year.
Heaven/Hell, seems also too far-fetched for me. I guess im not really a believer. >.>

there was an article on yahoo news that says they miss calculated that the calender ends in 2012. It says they might have messed up by a 100 years

Lol. This makes me laugh. They said the same thing is 2000, but nothing happened. The world won't end and there's no good proof that will make me change my mind.

 

For those of you making comments about Dec 31st 2011 at 11:59... It's meant to happen in December of 2012 so you're a bit early lol.

 

It may end there but I highly doubt it will end the way the Mayans predicted it. I mean honestly you believe they can predict the end of the world but couldn't even keep their civilization alive? Just my thought though sorry if you do believe it and I offended you.

i think 2008 when they tried to make a big bang or something people thought it was the end of the world as well 2 years on were still here
