My Dad Pisses Me off Very Badly.

So I live with my dad, and only my dad and he makes me extremely angry, he is constantly yelling at me for the stupidest things. He constantly makes fun of me for no reason what so ever. He calls me fat ass and a slob. I don't drink I don't do drugs, I never get in any sort of trouble in school or anywhere else. My grades average from a B+ to an A-. Teachers are constantly praising me whenever they see me about how awesome I am. His ex girlfriend once emailed me a few months ago how its awful how my dad feels like he's the greatest dad in the world because he buys me off. Whenever he buys me something that I DIDN'T ask for he throws it in my face. Then when he does buy me something I did ask for every once in a while he yells at me even more. I am a gamer I like to game, but I only ask on average for about 3 video games a year, most of the time however I go to buy them myself, but he grabs the money out of my hand, says no, takes out his own money buys the game or whatever it maybe that I want and gives it back to me and then pisses and moans to me about how he just bought it. A few minutes ago I just got yelled out because their was a piece of orange construction paper on our kitchen table from when I was working on a project yesterday. He yelled at me for it saying its nasty. All it was, was an orange piece of paper with nothing on it. I got called a slob for that. My dad basically called me gay a few weeks ago, just because I don't have a girlfriend. I was then ordered to go get a girlfriend basically, oh yea and he gave me 2 weeks to get one by, I have 6 days to get one now. What happens when I don't have one? I'm not sure probably get made fun of again and told that I embarrass him. I love my dad and he can be great at times but he truly is an ass whole, and he knows it and doesn't care. Any advice?

Please don't tell me to go move in with someone else, because theirs no one else to move in with, and plus since I'm such a nice person I'd feel like an ass whole.

 

if you have any friends that are girls, maybe try and get one of them to pretend your going out with her so you don't get yelled at and you shouldn't fell like an asshole just because you don't like the environment you're living in, i would maybe try to just ignore what he says or maybe find something to do that keeps you away from your house so you don't have to deal with him

My dad was the same,if your over 16 years of age,sit him down and tell him you don't appreciate the way he talks to you,and you don't dis-respect him so he should do the same to you,and respect you.

I wouldn't go about lying, as the consequences of him finding out it was fake would be so much worse/severe.
I'd recommend just confronting him about how you don't like the way he's treating you. Just be very honest and frank, and ask for him to lighten up a bit. Best of luck.

 

That's horrible that he gives you a set time amount to get a girlfriend. Don't ask him for ANYTHING. How old are you? Go find a job so you will be out of the house more.

 

I think you're dad is mad at the fact that all he see's you do is game, and thats you're passion, and he wants to see you do better then that and "be sucessful in life" just like he was. I bet he says stuff like, I wasn't like that when i was a kid. Or how come you do that so much? My mom is the exact same way bro. My mom is bipolar, and she repeats and repeats everything just to get her point across. All i ever say to her is yes mom, i'l do it. Trust me you're dad does care about you, He's probably just having a hard time accepting who you are. Maybe some day you have to break out of you're shell, and tell him the way you are, and theres nothing that he can do to change it. Because the bottom line is, you are who you are. Parents also like to see variety in a childs life. They like to see them doing what all the other popular succesful kids are doing, that have jobs, that have a girlfriend, and that do everything that they say with no questions asked. All you can do to make you're dad happy is come out of you're shell, and try you're best to please him. Never do anything that you're not capable of doing, and if you're lazy say you'l do it later, or do it in the least essential way possible. You still did it right?

Be perfect in his eyes which will give him nothing to complain about and if you can tell his trying hard to find the littlest things to pick you off on. The just have a go at him and confront him, this way you would really know if his trying really hard to be bigger than you or if its just the way he is.

 

When someone hurts you, it's because that person is hurting, too
This may sound extremely fruity, and wil be hard, but

Smile at him, ask him how his day was, invite him to play games/sports with you.
Don't just sit there and be a victim, be a good samaritan


Or you could try to show him who's boss, if you know what I mean.

Leave for a day, Just sleep over at a friends house, Just make him realize that he is an asshole. Even if he is the asshole you say he is, Everyone MUST love their kid at least a little bit. Once he realizes he pushed you to the point where you dont want to live with him, He MAY change, He may not.

It's what i've done. And it works, 2 hours later they blow your phone up begging you to come home. You may want to try it, You may not.

I did this when I was 16 and it worked. I did it again when I turned 17, and I never went back. I got on a train and ended up 1000 miles away and I started a new independant life.

 

Tell him straight up. Confront him of his actions. That'll set him straight, and if it doesn't, call someone that will comfort and assist you. Oh, and, don't be scared to tell him he's a complete asshole to you. This sounds pathetic, I know, but trust me, it'll work.

 

Maybe you could get someone you trust or yourself to talk to him about it if he doesn't change just leave.

 

He stated he couldn't just leave. I'm sure he would much rather live with his father than on the streets.

 

Well if that is so he could ask one of his neighbours to ring one of those foster care programs where they take legal custody of the child.
