    Baseball vs. Soccer

    Baseball > Soccer

    Why? I'll list three reasons.

    1. Tie. I don't spend hours watching a sport to see a 0-0 outcome.
    2. Only in soccer will a person run himself into the ground from slight contact.
    3. Don't use hands.

    Okay, my turn.

    1. You sit in front of a television screen and watch 30-year old, 200 pound, out-of-shape guys attempt to hit a ball with a bat.

    2. There's literally no physical activity involved, unless the fat ass somehow gets lucky and hits it past the basemen.

    3. It's the same process; Pitch. Strike. Pitch. Strike.

    1. Out of shape? In better shape than soccer players.

    2. You're complaining about physical activity? Soccer players are applauded when they fall to the ground after being slightly brushed by the opposing team. Very physical, I must say.

    3. Soccer: Kicking the ball around for a few hours. By the end of the game, players are too tired to go after the ball, unless it comes to them.

    1. Not i better shape pen, soccer players are some of the most fit athletes around

    2. Baseball = virtually no physical activity

    3. Moving for 90 minutes or warming the bench with your ass.

    1. Lmao. I hope you're kidding. Baseball players sit in a dugout on their ass and chew bubble gum and spit seeds until their turn is up to bat. When it's their turn, they 'try' to hit the ball but fail miserably and go back and sit down for another hour.

    2. They aren't applauded. Invalid.

    3. Again, soccer players actually have the energy and physical capability of running for hours rather than sitting in a dugout where they're doing nothing but making their asses fatter.

    Denied.

I'd just like to say, that is very wrong.
    Out of shape?
Thats a joke, they run 3km a game at least, and they are out of shape?

By the end of the game, they arent tired, its called playing smart.
Watch a game, and you will notice the winning team does that, and the losing team is still attacking.

    Wonder why?

    1. Soccer players kick the ball miserably, which explains why most games end in a 0-0 outcome. "A tie is like kissing your sister".

    2. So you're saying you aren't happy when your team gets a free kick?

    3. Lol. Soccer fans pride themselves saying that they are "capable of running for hours", but this just makes the game dull and boring. Soccer players get tired, and they just wait for the ball to come to them in the end.

    1. Miserably? Have you watched a soccer game before? And no, I'm not talking about MLS either. Most games here in the US are ended in a draw, but I encourage you to go and watch the English Premier League or even La Liga games.

    2. When my team gets a free kick, yeah, I'm happy. But, I'm pretty sure that it's obvious enough to tell whether or not it's actually a bad foul. What about a hit-by-pitch ball? People applaud that.

    3. This still doesn't prove that baseball players are more athletic and in shape. Again, take my advice and stay away from the North American soccer.

    1. Have you ever watched MLB baseball before?

    2. The difference is soccer players try to get a foul call from every slight touch.

    3. Prove how soccer players are more athletic. Running around doesn't mean they are more athletic.

Smellex, please refrain from posting in this thread.

    Pen you're ignorant lol.

I'm pretty sure a "football" player could compete in more things + sports than a baseball player could physically. Have you ever seen a baseball training session compared to a football session. You have to be joking, baseball is one of the laziest sports I've ever seen. I'll give it to pitchers and when players play outfield, but the rest, gtfo. Cristiano ronaldo alone just defeated any baseball player with his 3000 crunches in a day. I played "football" throughout highschool, 90min of running back and forth, grueling, keeping one on one with the man you have to defend. A baseball player takes 10hours at homeplate just get his gloves ready lol, sport is a joke.

Players falling is equivalent to nba players trying to cause a foul. It's part of the game, it is a little g*y but players do what they can to win.

I don't even wanna say more, this is just ignorance. Any decent baseball player can become pro with some steroids....football actually requires skill technically and mentally.

I'm not helping either case but...

Both sports are fucking as hell to watch...

Baseball players are similar to cheerleaders in the sense they need to stretch to reach a ball (going over or near them).

Soccer players do flop a lot. Mr. Robert Horry is their choreographer for it.

They don't run the whole game, they jog the whole game.

Soccer is solely dependent on natural talent. You don't have to spend hours in the weight room every single day to play professional soccer. Christiano Ronaldo for example.

As an old football coach once said, "We play to win." In soccer, you play to tie. You don't see anybody going hard busting there ass off at the end of the game to win in soccer.

    .
Yea but in football, the majority of the "game" is just standing around. Each play is 3-10 seconds then a break.

Anybody saying baseball > soccer must be a fucking lunatic. Baseball shouldn't even be considered a sport, you don't have to be physically fit, there is barley physical contact unless some cracked out dude on steroids gets angry when he gets hit by a pitch, and it barley takes skill. Soccer players have to be physically fit, in all ways. They have to be able to run for 90 minutes and work their asses off. Soccer is 100000 times harder than baseball will ever be.

/thread baseball is for fat lazy faggots

Edit: Forgot that half the Major League Baseball players have used steroids to get stronger. How often do you hear of that in soccer?

Soccer does involve alot more physical activity, but i like watching/playing baseball more. Neither sport is VERY entertaining to watch, but i feel like watching baseball is better due to more scoring. And it does take alot of skill to play baseball...i really hope nobody denies that.

What skill does it take to play "defense" in baseball? I can throw a baseball 70 yards. I can throw a baseball accurately and I've never played baseball in my life. I can go to the batting cages and hit 90mph pitches, and I've never played baseball in my life. A baseball player spends a majority of the game sitting on a bench in a dugout waiting to go and either hit the ball, or go, get out and have to sit back down for another hour.

You have to be able to catch 80-90 MPH baseballs and then throw them another 120 feet at like 70 MPH....if you can do that stuff then you'd be in the MLB... EVERY MAJOR LEAGUE SPORT TAKES SKILL. If it didn't, it wouldn't be major league.

Not trying to fight to death here, just debating :)

I can and I can throw it 120 feet without taking a hop step, I hate baseball, it shouldn't even be considered a sport. One of the best players in the MLB, a pitcher, C.C. Sabathia, is almost 300 pounds and is still considered an athlete? WTF is that?
