amulet of accuracy nerfed.

i was wondering is anyone on sythe lost out on the nerfing of ammulets of accuracy. they were cut down buy over 1000% in one update, yes one thousand!!! People could have lost some serious gp b/c of this. if anyone knows why this was done or if there are any other items with the potential of this happening to them please post them here.

 

Wow judging by the huge increase in cost, who ever was behind the merch must of had a huge amount on gp. The clan must be hell pissed. I can see why fagex did it though, the price was ridiculously high.

 

a Mod posted on the rs forums statiing this would happen. if the clan was smart and read this they wouldn't have lost anything? but i wonder

 

Someone still had to have the item when they did it.

I don't play RS anymore, but this is stupid.

 

It was Luffi and someone else who merched them.

 

Yet another update Jagex does to hurt the game that much more, now when an item is rising you have to be careful it doesn't just randomly tip and crash because Jagex feels its best.

 

The problem with how they did it was that they had it bought out so well that it stayed on the top 10 most bought out items, making it very easy to keep in the public eye and get negative attention. Shouldnt have kept it bought out so much, and they should have dumped before hitting the price ceiling.

 

the reason as to why the amulets were nerfed was because its 1 amulet of accuracy to an account, otherwise you must buy another from a player or in g/e. This made the item easy to buyout as there aren't even as many amulets as their are accounts meaning it was easy to buy them out and cause dramatic rises in price. Jagex nerfed the amulets price because its an average amulet that used to have special properties due to its one per character insertion to the game. i do believe jagex will have made it easy to grab a new amulet of accuracy, and yes many people will have lost millions perhaps even billions of GP. i say fuck 'em, its their own fault.

 

Billions for sure. Luffi claimed to have made an 8B between he and his partner, meaning someone in game ended up losing about 7.6B total.

 

thats what happens when you do that sorta thing though, though i highly dislike how people are now saying "anything that gets such a price spike will be nerfed by jagex hur durr" someone said that earlier in this thread, and im sorry but fuck off. jagex isn't out to screw over merchants cash, they are out to balance the game [and hopefuly screw over merchants cash in the process ]

either way, people that say jagex will nerf anything that gets a ridiculous price boost, they'll only do so if the item isn't worth the price [+2 str bonus is apparently 76k, so base your assumptions on that] so yeah. lay off jagex. im sure the merchants don't mind much either, though maybe those with less than 7B to invest into an item will be annoyed but thats what happens when you merch, either profit or loss, and this time there was a huge loss.

70K for an item that isn't that rare, and worse than Amulet of Power?

The fact that the ammy had reached its cap is ridiculous.
I guess they're acting faster now though: forced price reduction instead of just increasing the supply of ammys.
With mintcakes and blood tallys they just increased the supply.

Well the fact is essentially a discontinued item (more go out of the game than into the game) then since the ammies were easily bought out, few enter the game, and they had already reached their max raise, they could potentially have acted as the new mint cake, since unless the persons holding the main portion of the stock dumped, then the item couldnt really drop. I doubt jagex wnated to deal with another mint cake, so they nerfed it.

 

Myself and other mate brought into this items ages ago. we thought the where going be the new token item of f2p. Luckly and sadly we got rid of them ages.......... ago. Great merch on there part :_) sad for guy lossing so much

 

yes in the begining this seemed like the perfect item to merch for reason already mentioned. i not a huge fan of merch clans but it really blows for those guys losing %1000 on their investment.
also im guessing this items are now treated special and could never be merched again

Both the way the amulet rose to prices that high, and how Jagex solved the problem is ridiculous. Sucks for everyone who lost a ton of gp though.
