And I'm planning on attending the University of Miami, in Oxford Ohio. I've done an early decision application, and I'm working on finishing it now.

I'm going to apply to these colleges in 2-3 years as I am only in 8th grade.

SAT Score I took this year: ~2200.

Johns Hopkins CTY Since 3rd Grade.

GPA: 3.9-4.0 Depending on how you grade it.

All Honors and APs in a private school.

A lot of community service and starting local projects.

Well rounded, etc.

I have connections to all of them.

I'm only applying to Marist College and am going to live at home. Apparently my GPA is 3.55 says my college counselor who calculates them, just for applications. Got essentially straight A's at the end of last year, with basically 0 effort. I do graded homework on time, but do not read anything I don't have to and don't put any effort into any classes nor do I ever study.

I'm assuming I'l get into Marist. Applying early decision, obviously.

I only went to high school to play for the basketball/football team & eat lunch. I'd usually leave after lunch and go to practice. I eventually got kicked off the team even when offered tutors because i was ignorant. I know I could have played college basketball or football at least. I'm attending a community college and am in the process of picking up the pieces because of my mistakes.

I'm not ashamed and am going to tell you my terrible GPA in highschool.

My GPA was a 1.4
During a conversation with my guidance counselor about where i was going to go, we both just laughed and knew i had no options besides a community college.

I used to play baseball, and I'm thinking about getting back into it.

I might be able to do baseball, and I'm working on being a punter.

Sometimes. I'm getting in the habit of oing regular community service.

 

Cool, I went to Marist basketball/baseball camps and I have a summer house near there.

Are you in advanced courses? Why don't you just ask your guidance Councillor if he could go through and explain how GPA works. If you take the SATs and do well and figure out your GPA, you should be able to open up some options.

I don't know your situation, but the guy is dealing with hundreds if not thousands of kids, just stand out from the crowd and make him know you are interested in applying elsewhere.

Yes.

The problem is that 80% of Stanford applications are stellar (>4.0 GPAs, high SAT/ACT scores, class president, hundreds of volunteer hours, etc.), but only 7% of applicants get accepted. You really have to do something amazing to get noticed.

Let me break this down to you guys who want to go to Oxford, Cambridge, Princeton or MIT or any University that is very very popular... Harvard as well...

1. All of them turn down 4.0 GPA`s/ Perfect Scores...
2. You NEED background experience in the field you go not just school...
3. Harvard is a grad school you need ungrad first...
4. All of them check if you will benefit the University in anyway...
5. You need a big bank...$$
6. You need some sort of connection within the University to get in... Trust me...
7. If you pass all that then by the time your 30ish you should be making 100-200,000 dollars a year assuming you find a job after you graduate

 

oooommmmg you are amazing, dude just go to yale for that legacy , too bad my dad turned down all his good schools for a scholarship so i dont have any good legacies
