hey guys, ive just started training crafting and decided to cut gems, then i realized the make-x option applied to gems too! i cut 27 gems per 12 seconds, which averages out (with sapphires) to be 400k exp per hour. ive done all the math and you can get 600k+ exp per hour cutting rubies! so i figure once more people find out about this that rubies will skyrocket. so, i have a feeling that investing in uncut rubies would be a good choice for making money (on my side account im investing 30m into them)

 

Its not going to affect it b/c same thing happened with dragon hides with the update

and while its true that rubies are 600k+ xp an hour ... it also costs 19gp per xp, so for every 1m xp you are lose 19m cash

Whereas Black dhide bodies are way more an hour and only cost 18gp per xp and if you did SC and got needles it would only be 9 gp per xp

Also most people do green bodies which are only 12 gp per xp / 6 gp with sc needles

so in conclusion, its not really going to affect the prices, i dont think, because the only people who will do rubies and other gems are ones who have a ton of cash to begin with -- doubt this will be a widespread switch over.

its an extremely expensive method lol, i lose 13k per 27 sapphires when i did it.

XD, yea it was a pretty nice find for me seeing as i got to 40 crafting in ~10 mins.

 

I was going to attempt this while getting 99 crafting a while back. I had the ingenious idea of buying tons of sapphires, cutting them, making them into rings, enchanting them, and selling. Unfortunately, I got distracted after cutting about 100 sapphire and dumped them all for min.

I don't think it's enough to cause a huge rise in uncut prices, but you'd probably be able to turn a profit.

Also, Zarfot did a large portion of his 200m crafting while cutting gems.
