botting with a dark bow=profit??

bought a dark bow after fighting druids to 62 range with perf fighter and a mage short bow

thing is though i got a good 100-150k/h gold and 15-20k exp from using a mage bow....with steel arrows

now with a better dark bow its slowness has reduced its to 75-100k/h and 10kexp/h like wtf!

with steel arrows

im confused to if i should just buy a rune cross bow or keep the darkbow until 70 range

will buying a rune c bow be a better choice?

 

mage bowing, dark bow sucks. It's only good for it's spec. Never use dark bow for training.

Use a faster weapon like mage bow. Dark bow is terrible

yeah..I don't see why you wouldn't go back to the gold old MSB. If you have ava's accumulator black knifes are also a good option.

Darkbow is useless training. It would be the same as if I would use dragon claws to train for xp/gp, its useless and only good for its spec.

 

I feel I have to post since it seems the OP is unfamiliar with DPS calculations.

Every weapon in runescape has a speed rating.
The Dark Bows speed is a 1. The knives speed rating is a 7.
The Dark Bow fires twice while the knives fire once.
Assuming 65 range (near your level) you do 97lp damage with steel arrows and 82lp damage with iron knives.
A speed rating is the amount of ticks that are substracted from 10 to determine a weapons firing rate. A runescape tick is 0.6 seconds.
On rapid mode, ranged weapons increase speed ticks by 1.
So the Dark Bow fires 10-2=once every 8 ticks which is 4.8seconds.
The Iron Knives fire 10-8=once very 2 ticks which is 1.2 seconds.

So knives fire FOUR TIMES FASTER than the dark bow.
Assuming 100 seconds of measuring DPS(damage per second):
The Dark bow with steel arrows has approximately a 40lp/second DPS. (the double arrows per fire rate is included)
The Iron Knives have approximately a 68lp/second DPS.
This means iron knives have a 70% higher DPS than steel arrows from a Dark Bow. If we were to repeat the calculations with a magic shortbow, the DPS is 26% higher.
Conclusion: Knives are the fastest training method for range besides chinchompas.

 

Use the magic short bow, it's faster and you will get more kills per hour.

 

At enemies with low health (such as Chaos Druids), the faster the weapon speed, the better. Knives will be the best; MSB is the second best.

Rune Cbow and Dark Bow are pointless; even though they bit hit rather high, their attack speed is too slow to make it worthwhile. Iron Knives and MSB with Iron Arrows can both 2-hit a Chaos Druid fairly often, whereas the Rune Cbow and Dark Bow can fairly often 1-hit, but the time in between attacks isn't worth it.

For training range on low level enemies stick to the magic short bow, or throwing knives if you prefer. The dark bow is really only useful for its special, and then only for pking.
