    Smoking.

Over the past few years Ive been i guess you can say addicted, i dont smoke excessively maybe 4-5 cigs a day. Anyway ive been trying to kick this habit but it seems not possible, tried chewing gum, and other common methods to stop smoking but nothing has worked. Should i invest in something else to help me stop?:(

I think it affects people differently, I used to smoke a pack a day but I can stop whenever I want, I haven't smoked in about 2 years now and I feel a lot better than when I did.

Maybe you could visit your local doctor? Maybe he could suggest something which isn't "over the counter" or whatever it's called.

I tried quitting, but it didn't happen for me. Perhaps you have more will-power, though.

    I suggest hypnotherapy and/or e-cigarettes.

Good luck is all I can really say.

I truly believe the only way to quit is to stop completely, and that includes anything associated with smoking. You need to break the cycle and the body will stop associating cigarettes as something it needs. Try taking all temptation out of the house, and telling house mates to stop you from buying or smoking when you have the urge.

Replace smoking with something else. It is a recreational timewaster, so try get into maintaining your fitness levels, or going for a run when you feel an urge. It is all about keeping your body so busy that you won't even recognise you're not smoking.

Finally, you need to want to quit. Truly, and completely. Assuming you want kids, smoking on your behalf is terrible on their behalf. I hope I have helped.:) pm me if you need any more ideas or assistance.

Yeah dude, you won't quit unless you want to, and if you decide to give up cold turkey remember that you'll feel like shit for months afterwards, but in the long term its for the best.

I'd suggest smoking your normal 20 in one day, then after like a week, take 2 out and burn them, don't smoke. Then just repeat this process down to 2 cigarettes a day or something, then you should easily stop.

The only true thing than can help you quit, is a strong determination to quit. You have to find a reason to make you want to quit (i.e; My dad realized he was in love with his current wife enough, and she hated his smoking, that he quit cold turkey). If you don't truly want to quit, then maybe its just not right for you at the time.
