Chargebacks: What they are and how to avoid them

Chargebacks are the reason why PayPal sucks.

 

Most large volume traders won't refund CC payments, and instead say that it's the traders responsibility to recover the funds by claiming or calling their card company if necessary. This is the safer thing to do.

Overall, it's a decent guide, but it doesn't mention a thing about frauded paypals (which all of your measures are useless against). There are also already stickied guides on how to check how payments are funded, etc.

is it possible that they are using ip changer's to send as gift then claim it was unauthorised?

 

When you receive a email it should say "you've got money!" if it says that as the title on the email it is also a gift. You should also check in details as i believe it is a gift if there is no cost's.

 

I like the guide BUT you may want to add this feature i do. If the MSN and Buyer Emails don't match up ask for a email from the buyers email. Most phishers won't have access to the email adress just the account. Hope it helped.

 

Paypal keeps track of just about every IP changer/proxy available. They can tell if someone used one and the case will most likely go in your favor

In the situation where someone almost scammed me via a hacked paypal, they accessed the email address and sent me an email verifying it was them etc. Most people use 1-2 passwords for everything these days so simply having the buyer email you from their email account usually won't help, but I'll go ahead and add that in

 

This is an amazing guide. It'll probably come in handy sooner or later for me. (Just hoping I don't get scammed, but in reality, who actually never gets scamemd?)

Very nice guide! Imho chargebacks are not useless because you need them when you are scammed! About 3 days ago a guy scammed me, I sent a payment as a gift so I couldn't chargeback but I solved the problem telling PP the payment was unauthorized so they gave me my money back

Well laid out guide. I learned a few things However, I don't know if it is just me, but the yellow seems bright and hard on the eyes; try a lighter color, such as plum.
