i wouldnt bother buying these.

The only reason there prices spiked up was because of the "rogue merchant" npc that jagex released in 2009 that had the ability to buy all jewellery for lowest ge price. So merch clans would just completely buy out a jewellery (for example, sapphire ring), and then once they needed to dump they'd sell to the rouge merchant.

Then like 4-5 months ago (not rlly sure) the rouge merchant got patched. That's when pretty much every jewellery from diamond-gold (amulet, necklace, ring, w/e) crashed.

The gems were rising with the jewellery, and now theyve crashed back to their original prices.

It's actually kinda funny, if you look at the 180 day graphs for all the amulets, rings, necklaces and such, they all crash at the same time.

And not to mention uncuts r a pain to buyout.

 

I'm trying to buy 22m of uncut sapphs without any luck

 

Emeralds IMO. If you have the spare cash to invest.

 

It'll probably be a while before a clan picks it up.

Are they still a good item to merch?

 

If you need to ask questions like this, you really shouldn't be merching. What you're doing is more like gambling, having no real idea of what you're doing and HOPING the outcome is in your favor.

Just my 2 cents.

 

This is a really bad decision, in my opinion...

The drop in price is due to so many people botting using kMiner. I sell 100+ of each of these gems every time I run to the GE. They're a huge influx of uncut gems and it's only going to continue.
