How To be successful on YouTube

Hey, Ben here, this time showing you how to be successful on YouTube. This guide is for everyone, but mainly for people starting off.

    1. Descriptions are EXTREMELY important. It considers many factors when ranking your video. Of the factors you can control, your description is HUGE. Use your description box fully, or the most you can. In the description, describe what your video is about, and how you got the idea to make it.

    2. Annotate every video to another video. When another YouTuber is on your video, shout them out, and leave their YouTube channel on your channel, to try and boost your viewer numbers from his viewers. (visa versa).

    3. Always try to encourage engagement. Ask for a thumbs up, ask for comments, or ask for a video response, get the viewers doing something towards your video, eg. give them a question to answer. And also, be sure to include past comments or video responses in future videos so that your viewers know that you are listening to them and that you engage with them. :D

    5. Use Playlists to group together similar videos you have made. Use your channel to feature the playlists through the settings section.

    6. Collaborate with others. Find channels that serve a similar audience and that are a similar size to your own, and do a collaboration. Link to one another's channel, feature videos from the other channel, etc. (like number 2).

    7. Customize your channel graphics. Take full advantage of the many branding options available to partners to make your channel look professional and consistent. Maybe have it personalized to yourself, so people remember it.

    8. If you're trying to build subscribers, try a subscriber drive. Give away a small item in exchange for people subscribing and watching your videos. Use Facebook and other forms of social media to promote your contest.

    9. Be perceptive: see what sticks! Spend time watching the videos of successful YouTubers. Find the videos that are getting the most views or thumbs up. Try to figure out what about those videos or those channels is so compelling, and try to make videos similar to those.

    and lastly,
Keep video length as short as possible, especially if you are new to YouTube. Five minutes should be long enough. Although, if you have something important to say, or discuss, tell your ordience, which may take more than 5 minutes.

I hope this helped you on your way to getting famous on YouTube, and best of luck. Even send a reply to this with your YouTube channel and I'll subscribe to them. :D

(*Some of these points were inspired by my friends, but nothing was copied word to word by someone I do not know).

Mostly common sense, but nonetheless, good guide.

If this was common sense then every YouTuber would be a hit. Wrong.

Pretty average guide, some helpful tips, but I wouldn't have a video longer than 3 minutes. To be honest, nobody really reads the description either, its not that big. Next time try adding pictures or something, it helps... :p

How To be successful on YouTube

Hello. I love the topic of this guide, but I do honestly believe that it could be expanded a little bit more with better details. I'll start out with a couple of things you did very well.

First off, I like how you've gone through and listed ways of promoting your videos in order to gain popularity and views. There honestly was a couple ways in there that I had no clue about. Again, this is a pretty good topic and guide to write on, so it's a good idea to make this guide good.

You can improve this guide by adding pictures and some examples of successful Youtube videos and channels. Now I know this is a minor thing, but you might want to avoid using rainbow text on guides. Guides are supposed to be easy to read and easy to follow. Maybe once you add the pictures, you can lay out your guide a little better.

Hopefully this has helped you a little bit. I'm hoping once you come back from your temp ban, you can come and change your guide a bit. PM if you ever need help.
