Ubuntu and Landline Phone Problem

Hi there,

I currently and puzzled by a problem where my landline phone does not work properly(I can receive calls, call and answer then but I cannot listen/understand what the caller/receiver is saying) when I am running my laptop which is currently running the Ubuntu 10.10 operating system. Ever since I have installed Ubuntu, the phone was like this. I have Comwave for the phone line and Rogers for the internet.

If you have any ideas,advice or theories of what is going on, could you please post them here!
