Leecher title ?

OK, before I say anything else I looked for around for other posts to hope to see if anyone had a similar topic going..

I am just wondering about the title under my avatar saying "leecher" and how I got this title.

Is it just until I get a few more posts under my sleeve or is it here to stay ?

Yeah, it's just a posting rank. After 25 posts, it changes to 'member'. All of the ranks:

Posting Ranks:
0 - 24 = Leecher
25 - 99 = Member
100 - 249 = Active Member
250 - 624 = Forum Addict
625 - 999 = Apprentice
1000 - 1999 = Guru
2000+ = Grand Master

 

Why does it say leecher though. To me that term has negative cannotations I think something like newbie would be better and more positive.

Yeah I had the same thoughts and even posted a similar thread when I started out. I do think it should be changed, I thought I got accused of stealing a guide or something.

 

It does kind-of sound negative. Though you didn't, if you ever do make a thread about changing it, ill support it.

It's not that hard to get rid of that title, so I think it'd just stay the same.

 

A leecher is someone considered to have only registered to reap the benefits of the site and give back nothing - this includes things such as guides, programs, training, etc etc. For the time being you have not given anything to the community so naturally right now you're considered a "leecher" - as soon as you surpass 25 posts, then it is clear you have given back to the community in some way or another (in most cases) so your post rank goes up a stage to "member".

 

But you don't have to even create an acc to view such things...The point of creating an account is to post for various reasons.

I could not have put it any betters. I totally support this. In fact, I believe 25 posts is a light requirement to show you've contributed enough to be a member.

 

My rank is also leecher. Be proud of it
