It IS necessary, first impressions are extremely important, and I feel Leecher is not a good first impression. "New Member." Could be better.

Yes leave everything to admins because they don't have enough work to do. I will support if you come up with a better name. Just saying "we need a change" doesn't cut it. Change to what?

A leecher is someone who doesn't contribute to the community. Someone with <25 posts hasn't really contributed. A leecher.

Do people honestly pay attention to post titles? I don't think so.

Not to mention it takes 15 minutes to get to a Member level.

    It's fine.

I suppose some people may take offense to it.. But it seems like a pointless change. I mean "nicer", what is this? The playground

"First impressions are extremely important". What is this some blind date website? All of the mods, middle mans, admins were once a leecher. It clearly did not have an effect on their image.

Why does it even need to be highly thought about you stay as that for "25" posts. you don't have to worry about being a leecher for long.
Also first impressions, no one will mind if your a leecher and your join date is quite newish.. Everyone starts the same as everyone else, Work your way up.

I do support. When I was a leecher I thought I was accused of leaking a guide or something.

Why would leecher get a title and other members that are active wouldn't get one? Doesn't make sense.

I think you may have misread this. He means change the title "Leecher" to something nicer, as being a leech could be considered an insult.

I have to agree with this.

The thing is, user-titles aren't meant to be negative, or nice. They're simply just there.

Forum addicts aren't really addicted to the forum...
I'm not really an apprentice of the forum...
    Gurus aren't really gurus...
Feren Silver isn't a hero that gets remembered and/or a legend that never dies.

It's not a big deal, honestly.

I doubt anything would change because of this. Whether it's "Leecher" or "New Member", it means the same thing.

the term "leecher" has deep roots in the history of RS cheating communities as someone who comes just to get what they can from the community without contributing. If you spend some time on the site, then you become an active member. The term is accurate.
