iPod Touch Jailbreak Help?

If this is in the wrong section I apologize, it just seemed the most accurate, and appropriate section to me.
I have an iPod Touch 2g MC MODEL!
It's an MC MODEL!! I currently have iOS 4.0.2, and I cannot downgrade, trust me I've tried everything I can to downgrade. Is there a jailbreak out there for it? I've searched on Google, and everything I've come across is all for non-mc models, or you must be able to downgrade it.. If you can PLEASE give me some info, or some links (NOT survey sites to download..), I'd appreciate it. If there is not a jailbreak for this currently, but this is one coming and you know a rough estimate of when it should be here, I'd love to know when that is, thanks!

/Edit As of now looks like your screwed until you can downgrade to iOS 4.0.1, Ill look in to that for ya as well.

No jailbreak out, as of yet. No idea when it will come too bro.

 

I've tried, but since the last time my iPod was 'jailbroken', my SHSH files were destroyed through Cydia in the upgrade Thanks anyway. I think I'll have to wait awhile for the jailbreak.. Goddamn you Apple and thou greediness of wealth and shame upon thy jailbreakers. Maybe I'll just sell my iPod and get the newer version so I can have all of the customization I want. I don't really mind paying for the apps. If anyone has the new iPod touch 4th gen for sale, let me know.

 

There is no current jailbreak for 4.0.2, you'll have to wait it out for now.

There's some jailbreak out for the 4.1 - but unfortunatly, only works for:
iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, iPad, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G

- They were going to release Greenpois0n, which would give the people the opportunity to jailbreak all iDevices (I think) with 4.1

But Geohot released his limera1n the day before (9th oct) and the DevTeam got mad, cause they dont want two exploits being out for Apple to close down within 1 versionupdate. So now they're implementing Geohot's exploit instead of their own (SHAtter)

In conclusion.. Keep tracking the Chronic Dev Team's twitter or greenpois0n.com and *hope* that the jailbreak is working on the 2g

The Chronic Dev Team has released Greenpois0n, just like limera1n, it only support:
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 3G S
- iPod touch (4th Generation)
- iPod touch (3rd Generation)
- iPad

idk. I actually don't remember doing it. I think I might have had my iPod set to automatically update when it's plugged into my computer, so I plugged it in and left, and once I came back it was upgraded without me even realizing until just recently (there isn't any difference except for the fact that it took away the ability to downgrade, and to visit jailbreakme.com).

Thanks everyone for all of the input and information, it has ALL helped. I'll be keeping tabs between here the dev team's site. I'll post here if I find anything out for those who are wondering as well.

I'm pretty sure Geohot's exploit works on the iTouch 2g.

 

Are you referring to greenpois0n? If so, it doesn't work :embar: I wish it did, but meh. I'll just wait.

Yes, and it does work for the 2g, however it doesn't work for the 2g MC Model I'm not sure what the difference is between the MB, and the MC Model's, but whatever it is, it pisses me off.

 

Mc and Mb models have different software.

You CANNOT jailbreak a MC model only MB.
