Lurking too much

Since I've joined Sythe, I've done aloooot of lurking. About 1000x more than I've done posting. I feel like I'm taking a sort-of backseat in the community and I don't know what to contribute.

70% of the posts I write, I don't end up posting and just end up thinking things like "eh it doesn't matter, no one cares". I'm usually not like that when I join new forums/sites, but it's just the mature feeling of this one that I'm not used to and want to experience.

Any suggestions on how I can integrate more with you guys, and just generally fit in with the community would be appreciated.

 

1. Go in the IRC and get to know people.
2. Write guides!
3. Post an intro here: http://sythe.org/forumdisplay.php?f=439
4. Post around in the spam forum or SFA
5. Try to answer peoples questions in RS2 general

 

Thanks for the advice From what I can see, you're always good for abit of advice. It's a nice quality to have.

I've tried to work IRC before and I just failed badly at it. I'll try to find instructions somewhere haha. As for guides, I don't know if I have enough experience to write them but I'll have a look and see how interested people are in the things I know alot about and maybe have a go in the future. I mostly lurk in offtopic, spam and SFA sections so I'll have to have a shot at posting more. I'll try my best to answer RS questions, but there's little or nothing a newb like me can do when people are having major problems.

Wow, this is exactly how I feel I can't really help you but what I usually do is post in topics that I enjoy or understand completely.

 

Just don't be afraid of people. Its common for people to be afraid when they are in a new place or situation, because others know more or what ever. I am new, but I am trying to contribute as much as possible. Just post your thoughts and if your wrong, well so be it. Try posting in the SFA section. You can have some nice discussions there even though sometimes you are wrong. Don't take crap from people and never be afraid to speak your mind. It will get you far in life.

 

I have been here for nearly 5 years. All I've done is lurk.

 

I joined a year ago and pretty much lurked the whole way thru.

 

Lurking=impossible to prove unless you have an extremely low join date to post count ratio, in any other case there is no way to prove it therefore anyone can make it up and you'll find often ALOT of people do.

13 months. That's less than 10 posts per month...

 

Donate 5$ to sythe to upgrade your sythe account, become more "trusted", maybe more known and have that warm feeling inside you, telling you "whoa, I helped sythe to stay alive!" !

Exactly what you did hear is a great way to find out, simply Just post what ever question, Guide, Rant, suggestions what ever, I just post what ever I feel

 

Just post when you know something somewhat related, and be prepared to be infracted but chances are you will if you are trying to up your post count and become more known.

Me, I do my fair share of lurking. I have to work on this as well.

 

Like vaporized said, just post in threads you can relate to, that's what I do. Or I make my own thread and don't care if it gets a post. Nothing wrong with lurking, I do it sometimes due to the fact that 80% of the topics are retarded to me.
