The programming section is pretty inactive and scrolling through it on the index makes the entire site look inactive.

There's really no need to separate it based on languages; looking at the most active forum in that section, Web Programming, the most recent threads are months apart and the poor, forgotten, C# forum has 71 threads.

Solution? Merge all forums in the Programming section into a single forum.

Support. That section is pretty dead and making it into 4 sections just isn't necessary.

Support, Pretty much what Hahanerd said, barely any posts/thread there. It wouldn't hurt to just put them all together.

Support. I've hardly seen anyone post there, and it's an eyesore.

That's why there is a function that allows you to minimize sections.

I don't see any harm in keeping the programming section as it is even if it may be a little inactive.

I think that this is a good idea; it will make the forum more active and then more people may wish to contribute.

Would the section remain with only a single forum, or would all the programming section be moved to a different forum?

It makes sense to make it just one forum. Honestly.

I vote also for 1 forum section only.

Yes. But we need to make them subforums though, I'd hate for my precious PHP stuff to be confused with Java LOL
Edit: The whole forums need to be more condensed anyway, say user ed, wow, etc.

You can easily tag your thread titles with the language you're using
    Ex:
    PHP:
    , [C], [Java], etc.
This would make the forum more activesince each programming section by itself doesn't have very much activity.
