Email Recovering

So recently there was an update about recovering your account through your email and how it made it alot easier to recover your account. So i decided to put this to the test and recovered my old rune pure from like 2 years ago and it worked.

Some of you may know about how to get Rare names in Runescape. Like recovering them saying you forgot your i.p and bullshit, but today I was trying to get a 2 letter name and it asked me if I had an email registered on the account. I obviously didn't because I'd never played it, but I put in my personal email, and 10 seconds later I got a e-mail from JaGex with the security code to put in :S? So have Jagex changed it so your email doesn't need to be registered to recover an account :S?

 

no and that's stealing account's pretty sure it's against sythe rules to do so that

Best way to check is to try it with a different account.. If it dosen't work, it was a glitch.. simple.

I know if you have a registered email on your account and someone trys to recover yours, jagex will email you telling you that it's happening.

 

It is not a glitch, it is there for an alternative to check on your appeal. Instead of having the two codes e.g - P239G3 - 612FW22

Also receiving a code from your email to add in the appeal is not new. But Jagex have made it easier to notice and some people think it is a major update but really it was always there.

 

Basically they will always send the email you put in a message asking for the verification number thing. It wouldn't help you though unless that email is/was hooked up to your account.
