Fastest Internet World Wide America Fails?

    1. South Korea 34.14 Mbps - 45.50 USD A MONTH - WOOOOW
    2. Lithuania 25.44 Mbps - 41.98 USD A MONTH
    3. Latvia 25.44 Mbps - 34.32 USD A MONTH

    27. United States 10.29 Mbps - 58.25 A MONTH

Two things. The world wide web was invented by Tim Berners Lee, an Englishman working in Switzerland, and the main reason those countries have higher speed is because of their small area geographically and the fact that they speak mostly one language confined to that country.

For example, in South Korea the vast majority of traffic comes from nearby within the country, and little traffic comes from outside, where next to nobody speaks Korean. Though of course their new infrastructure also has an effect.

However, in the US, the speed is lower because the country is larger, and more traffic comes from overseas (the UK, Australia etc) which impacts on connection speeds.

Well people in the US always over-charge for anything, but i just read somewhere in Chattanooga TN they will have a knew ISP providing 100 mbps , but it will cost around 400 dollars a month. Sounds good but once again the price kills.

Japan or Korea should be your first guess. They both have spent tons of making their digital infrastructure as massive as possible. The US is just too large and the government is not concerned about making the internet faster since they use hardwired things and satellites. :/

Fastest Internet World Wide America Fails?

    Here's a little known fact.
It's possible for the internet to be free, as the signals can be sent down power lines which already exists everywhere i computer does (within reason).

The reason they don't do this as there is mixed arguments on who to pay. etc.

A lot of projects are stopped (Germany, Spain, The Netherlands), because interference, low speeds, instable and it costs more then cable/dsl connections.
And there is no way it could be free you still need some sort of ISP that sends the data from a to b to a. need special modems, backbones, routers etc,etc...all costing money.
Sure you can run a small network but you still need to buy routers/switches/modems and stuff.

So your so called fact has a lot of flaws.

They have other things to worry about then low Internet Speeds >_>

This is the most accurate post on the matter, it's no surprise the United States is ranked so low.
