I embedded it for you to save problems with other users - you'll get more feedback this way, people can't be bothered with links. Okay, to start you definitely need to work on depth - currently it looks extremely flat. Sharpening and blurring is your friend. Work around with it a little until you find something that works - I'm not talking about the tools either, I'm talking about in the toolbar at the top of your computer screen: Filter > Blur > Blur and also Filter > Sharpen >Sharpen Of course, lighting is very off as well - and good lighting also contributes to depth. You shouldn't treat your canvas as a flat surface, treat it like the object is actually 3D and real; darkening areas in shadow and highlighting just curves and surfaces that the light plays upon REALISTICALLY. Remove the border, and avoid using them in the future - they kill all flow within a piece. Text needs to be worked on a LOT, clearly... it would looks better if you just removed it.
I did a bit of sharpening, but not alot. I'll do a new one tomorrow if I have the time and play around with the lighting. Any tips or TuT's for the text? I've always sucked hard at text. Thanks for the quick and helpful reply.
To be quite honest, I'd avoid placing text in there at all. I made the transition with all of my signatures to not putting text in anymore, and I now focus completely upon the graphical concept of the tag. You should try the same I did a little bit of editing myself with just the image (it was harder without having the PSD), but this is what it should look like if you work on depth further: EDIT: Disregard the 1px line at the bottom, I didn't see that when editing ^_^
Thank you, I really like your edited version Alteranz but the blob of white and pink looks a little odd. I am thinking you were trying to take out some effects but without the PSD, you are right, it is hard to edit an image. 1337: Try adding in some lighting as Alt did, by darkening some areas and lighting others. The text isn't really good, I would just take it out completely and just work on the image and if you believe it warrants text then try to find something that blends and flows well.
I'm currently working on it atm, removed the border and the text, going to spend a lot more time on it.
