Jagex resetting levels!!!

I was browsing through forums and saw a thread that i found quiet funny. I thought it was some kids joke at trying to get Jagex to give him some quick levels... But I was wrong. Jagex seriously reset this kids fishing level from 83 to 16. He wasnt the only one, another guy posted on there saying he was 98 fishing and Jagex reset him recently to 92.

Check out the thread posted on RuneScape forums about it. Don't believe me? Look at the posters Adventure logs. It says "_____" achieved 83 fishing. Then look at his stats and it says 16. Wtf?

 

Hmm, I have no idea why Jagex are doing this but I can only guess that is related to botting. They might suspect the user is botting. Sorry I don't fully know.

Wow, it's obviously a bug, (just looked at the RS thread) and I wonder if it's possible to forge levels higher rather than lowering them?
I think there may be a corrupt JMod here.. LOL.

 

I'm going to train combat now, hopefully the glitch happens to my hitpoints and they go to level 1.

It's a bug, not a rank reset. There is no way Jagex would set stats to arbitrary numbers. Not to mention you have to be one bad botter getting tagged with that little of botting.

They don't reset botters, it's obviously a bug.

My friend told me he dropped 5 fishing levels and I didn't believe him. It is most likely a fault on Jagex...

 

Of course it is a bug.

Just like when your stats go to 120 when you lag bad.

 

Bug, but Jagex is probably going to say something along the lines of 'sorry, but we cannot fix this' or some shit. They always do.

Back when people would go to Godwars and hit that key that made everyone whitescreen people lost millions yet they did nothing.

However, when the dung bug was out for 99 rc in seconds, of course they rolled back.

Taking drastic measures on botters is my guess. Jagex fails.

 

Guys, they ban if you're caught botting. Not reset levels, that was RSC.

 

I can see this happening but I'm not taking 2 kids on the runescape forums' word for it.

 

How would it be "childish." There's no proof that this guy didn't bot to 83 fishing. Also, I believe level resets are a great idea to prevent botters. But then again, this was just a bug, and Jagex is stupid. So, don't worry about level resets to those botters.
