Can someone tell me how the rating system works, like what do you need to average after everyday to be put in the onyx bracket, gold bracket, etc..

There is no set number to be ranked in a division because the way Bungie made the system is that for example; the top 5% are onyx division. So dependant on the way people play, the score could vary one season to the next. From what I've heard though, I think upper 1700's is what a lot of highly competitive players have been reaching.
