How To See If A Paypal Transfer Is A Gift?

Well the title says it all, just recieved a payment, and can't tell if it's a gift or not.

If it does not say his adress and OK to ship, it's a gift.

 

Check the email PP automatically sends you, it usually says on there (for me anyway).

Naw it wasn't in there, I called paypal to be sure, they confirmed it

 

When the other person looks at the details of the cash sent if they have any "fees" paid then it wasn't paid as a gift. If there are no fees then it was a gift.

 

click details > issue refund and if theres something like 'no partial refunds can be given blablabla' its gifted.

 

You are both wrong, sometimes you can issue a refund, sometimes not.

And now you need to pay the fees even for a gift payment.

 

I'm curious about this to, is wernis' explanation right?

 

Is paypal ok with using ht gift option for payment?
Like they dont mind?
I would assume they would intervene as its kind of beating the sytem so they cant recover cash if needed.


Or is it just something they cant do anything about.
